Ballot the whole area or division if they implement it. Although I think you have to inform them thats what you will do.

I think it shoul be the area as that will have a bigger impact. If we can show solidarity over one office then other weaker offices will be left alone. We need to mobilise the troops and vote for official industrial action.
F*cking fed up with those ar*eholes destroying a brilliant service and turning it into a substandard business. :mad

here here - dundee central has had the pish take oot o them, and its a shambolic affair, wi the trolleys and unmanageable workloads.

The east and the west offices are standing tall, and told them, and our devious cwu reps, to POKE IT.

JUST LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS

As a side, industrial action, i feel, is what management want, so any return to work will suit them , and not us.
I favour a work to rule, its far more enjoyable, watchin them squirm , and having to deliver mail, along side managers from all over scotland
Arses will then be kicked by those above, who see their grip on power and authority slipping, :whistle

Absolutely spot on, IMHO,but for it to work, all offices have to start this from tomorrow,NO early starts,No cars, take your meal relief, weigh your bags etc etc and watch the central Scotland mail system grind to a halt within 3-4 days.
The more you know, the worse it gets.

Brother shimmyrule we as a union do not work to rule, as this plays right into managements hands (as they interpret this a form of industrial action) we do however, do the job properly (with all that entails) i.e. working to contracted hours no more no less, don't come in early, weigh bags etc, etc:

Executive Action notice has been served in Alloa. 9th March is the date for implementation.

Another question is, we just had a re-sign go ahead on January 5th. Where do we stand in regard our duties? My new duty is a reasonably good duty and is having minimal delivery points added to it under Pegasus, so would be loathe to lose it after 2 months after being a floater for 5 years.

Sadly Industrial action is the only thing Royal Mail fear that is why they are attempting to challenge almost every Industrail action ballot the union has at the moment. Royal Mail believe that there is not the support for wide spread industrial action across the UK and are implementing action where they beleive they can. However they are are nervous that in big cities will produce yes votes and therefore are not at the moment taking a hardline with them in terms of Industrial action.

Working to Rule is a very hard thing to control and management know that. What happens if they take an indivdual off pay for what they believe is slow working ? Would the office then walk out unofficially ?

Dont think they wont do this as this is what they did at Streatham Delivery Office and Watford when indivduals did the job properly. Furthermore this is often the biggest causes of unofficial action and the largest unoffical action dispute this union has seen which started in London but spread to places like covertry , warrington , chelmsford , southend postmouth etc started by people being taken off pay for what Royal Mail considered as not working normally.

Offical Industrial action remains our best weapon to force Royal Mail into an agreement and to back down from executive action. As working to rule is not an answer against their bullying tactics of taking indivduals off pay. The streatham staff won their trubuanal cases and wages back but almost a year after management deducted their pay for doing the job properly.

At steatham staff did the job properly but management produced their own version of the indoor workload tool and even thou they worked a full shift management decided to stop their whole days wages because management believed that they were not working to the correct standards.

So dont under estimate managements bullying tactics.

Quite right ,work to rule will never shake our lords and masters.
First we should be doing it as a matter of course,do your job properly
Second, too many grey areas and room for backsliding/management manipulation. Start whispering, spread doubt, and confusion and fragmentation become the ticket to defeat

I already 'work to rule'/'do my job properly' :nana :nana 8 hours work for 8 hours pay, no more, no less is the rules we all should should abide by (PTs should reduce their hours to suit) but we should never be in the situation that 1 person is finished their duty before others have started delivering theirs.

Interested to know if any of the brothers and sisters have a copy of the judgement in the streatham staff tribunal case. Would certainly love to read what the tribunals findings of fact were.
