You would think our depot was a T.N.T or UK Mail center on a saturday and this is a royalmail depot?.

They collect from the print centre and then distribute to the 68 RM IMC's. I think UK Mail have a big place in Rugby then lots of little sites all over the country that deliver into the IMC's & TNT have a good few depots around the country that deliver into the IMC's. Not sure about DHL / CitiPost et al

Hope this helps.

They are not allowed into the MC before/after the allocated time, so I guess if they are late tough :chuckle

I've had them as well, always seemed a pointless exercise as the people who paid for postage won't see the envelope and the stamp. Do they send it back to them or something before its delivered. :confused :confused :confused

Oh i see. Is that why we get more downstream acces shite on saturdays to deliver than the rest of the week? It's got to the point of spot the RM stuff on saturdays. Who decreed that it's 1st class anyway? they dont pay the going rate. :arrrghhh

We had some mail with DSA stamps on it through our MC last week. Just like regular stamps, but with a picture of some snow drops and the DSA mark. A sign of whats to come perhaps?
Of the DSA we receive, very little is actually walksorted i.e. bundled for a specific delivery. On a typical day we'll get 3-4 boxes(approx 1000 items) of 'out of access' mail which is charged.

I could explain, but it would take a fair amount of time. I'd suggest that you have a chat with Revenue Protection staff at your Mail Centre, or search the Intranet for Downstream Access. There's a lot of information on the intranet.
