ANGRY residents say they didn’t have some of their mail delivered for four months.

Households in St John’s Road, Clacton, said that since last November, parcels have failed to arrive, magazine subscriptions were undelivered, and late payments were triggered as bills did not turn up.

Tony Vieira, 74, of St John’s Road, said he was hit with a £12 charge for failing to pay his bills on time, because he was not receiving them.

He said: “I had a late payment on one bill, because I paid late through no fault of my own.

“It was terrible.”

Paul Evans, who lives in the same road, said he was missing “small packages, parcels, lots of letters, most Christmas cards – anything that the post delivers.”

Royal Mail bosses have now tracked down some items, dating from last November, and delivered them last week, along with an apology.

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “Anyone with concerns is asked to call our customer services department on 08457 740740.”

Looks like a case of hidden mail (whether by management or a postie) although I do hope that it's not.
