What if there was a fire?
I often find myself thinking this when having knocked on a customers door they seem tio go backwards and forwards looking for keys before eventually opening the front door.
They'd be fubared if the house was on fire.

Re: What if there was a fire?
I've said to a few customers who've kept me waiting whilst looking for their keys 'Good job your house ain't on fire', never get a response back. Also people having their cars parked right up virtually against the front door, I've known cars to catch fire due to electrical faults etc, do these people not realiseMr Blonde wrote:I often find myself thinking this when having knocked on a customers door they seem tio go backwards and forwards looking for keys before eventually opening the front door.

Re: What if there was a fire?
I had one the other day, after about four minutes I opened the letterbox flap and explained that it'd be quicker if they just opened the window, because if it don't fit through even their smallest window you can rest assured it wouldnt be in my bag in the first place.
To which they screamed, "if I had keys for the efffing windows, I wouldn't be looking for the effing front door key now would I?"
At that point I gave up waiting, and popped back next door to post their P739.

Re: What if there was a fire?
One guy a few years back, threw me his car keys and i had to go to his car to get his house keys so he could open the door up as his wife had locked him in.

Re: What if there was a fire?
And on umpteen ocassions I've knowingly knocked on customers front doors where for whatever reason they have actually left their keys in the door from that day or the night before only to hear the response "I can't find the front door keys" to which I reply "Try the door anyway" and when it opens the look you get is priceless "Are these them" is my response.

Re: What if there was a fire?
Slightly off topic but what about the people who seem to spend about a minute unlocking all the locks they have on the door (usually pensioners) and I wonder what would happen if paramedics need access to them in an emergency.
