What Credit Crunch

I don't about you lot, but i'm not feeling any differents, apart from over the months of things coming down in price which is making things easier.
I work for a govenment body.
I live in a 3 bedroom local authority house in 1 of the most expensive parts of the country, which i'm coping with.
Food is not a problem as I shop around, Lidl, Frozen Foods, Morrisons and the like.
Petrol from Asda
Council Tax all up to date
So no problem here

He's having a laugh,maybe i should let the missus answer this!
I pay rent,so no mortgage shite for me but.....
My heating(Gas) has gone from £15 a week to £30-£35,electric has nearly doubled,local somerfield is taking the piss,Asda,oh yeah great Asda,great with the £1 named cerial deals and other so called deals,but most of their own range has gone up.
Missus buys milk,bread,ham,them kind of daily things at the local somerfield and they have gone through the roof.

Near enough everyone out there is taking the piss,and while i'm not on the bread line,i've had to cut back on a lot of things,especially my food shopping.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Any one who lives in subsidesed LA Housing is very lucky .Many people with mortgages did not buy somewhere to make money from ,but for somewhere live . Some people the system works for ,many it does not .My expirence of asking social anything is being laughed at.

Also many people in RM rely upon SA long term SA will be withdrawn or significantly reduced,overtime in my office has already been reduced.

Food prices are variable,and even shopping in Lidli you do not get as much as you use to.School dinners gone up to ,other halfs job may or may not be safe and almost every private company is cutting down.

get yirsels north o the border, cleaner, cheaper, less congested and a lot friendlier.

bought a new build a few years ago, doubled in value in 5 years, although dropping a bit now, still, moving elsewhere is no option,as prices are comparative.Im happy,

Cutting back on things is not a problem.............
I have said to my 11 and 9 year old that because of the price of the euro there is no way we are going on holiday this year,
so i will spend that money on home improvments.
whats your problem ...

Why deprive your children of a holiday this year and then spend money on home improvements to a local authority house ?

The Euro Price, My annual leave is in August, so £1 for 1 Euro plus Flights and Stay i might as well spent that money on my house that I'm paying £80.00 a week for.
this is my home and when i'm old and very grey and all my bits and peaces are sagging, i will still be in a local authority house and my children will understand..

The minimum you can get a house for over here is over £100 per week (and that's if you can wait long enough on the waiting list to get a council house).

It seems that all has to cut back on things but i don't believe people of royal mail do, not unless they use royal mail as a second job and its bit them on the ass

Well my gas & electricity are £35 a month dearer, my rents went up £75 a month, ok fuels came down a little but seems to be creeping back up, it's a £1 for a decent loaf or more, milks went up 30 -40p. Have had to start doing most of our shopping in Farmfoods but noticed this week frozen veg has went up 30p or so amongst other things. Cost of living is soaring but unfortunatley inflation will say otherwise ( although is currently 3.5%) as the price of a plasma telly has plummeted. I'm finding my cash doesn't go nearly as far as this time last year. Wife works for a car dealership who may or may not survive the current year. I'm thankfull I have a job to go to at the moment but with all the talk of privatisation and even Georoute who knows what the future holds. I don't think we've seen the worst of this credit crunch and my heart goes out to anyone who has lost out on thier hopes and dreams due to the current econonmic situation.
