you're right transport should be provided for you. however it's another case of "I'll use my car because it's easier for me". We must save RM millons by providing them with a free delivery fleet :d'oh!

axeman wrote:Not so says my area rep you go to your delivery office and there should be transport for you to the office they wish you to attend... under no circumstances should you use your own vehicle you do not get any mileage allowance for it so don't go that route it could be a lot further to travel to the other office after all why give your fuel / running costs freely to them they also have to provide you transport back to your office at the end of your duty span
Those in my office that have used their own cars have been given travelling allowance.

this happens nearly everyday in my office... usually only the ones who will not argue back that are pressured into going. i know for a fact as well that the offices they get sent to are definately not local...probably as far as 20 miles!

If they tried to send me that far, I'd complain! There was only about 5 mins difference in the traveling time to the one I was sent to. I didn't clock the distance though, as it was actually nearer.

They have to arrange transport to and from the other DO and it all has to be within your contracted hours, just stick to that and you'll be fine.

What mileage allowance? And any time over your contracted hours should be claimed as OT.

In our office last week,we had somebody from our office sent to another office and then because we were short we had somebody from another office sent to ours! How on earth does that make sense? They really do always ask the Yesboys though who probley wont claim any overtime for going over there time or even ask for petrol money!

Both me and the missus have worked in other offices.
All of them were actually nearer than our normal office so we did not claim, but when it was just me and she dropped me off and then went on to our office i claimed milage allowance as she had to go out of her way.

It was certainly interesting to see how other offices work and i got to know a few more faces.

Have not done it for a while though.

This is just a thing for area reserves and not duty holders

Hmm, yes and no.
We are both reserves, i have been for 7 years, and as i understand if we are asked and if there are no takers then a duty holder can be asked.
I may be wrong but i do not think so.

Well if needs must, then a dutie holder will be asked, but that will cost that unit dearly to ask such a thing

It should be reserves 1st not duty holders, unless they volunteer.
The reason it is the reserves is because there would be 'surplus staff'.
