Good Big Daz.. make sure its right across the board! :Applause
Yeah Big Daz, but will they take any notice of him?

Remember he was the one bragging on how well it went into his own office with only one walk being tested..........

Reviewed I thought - not tested. As in after so long a walk is looked at with a view to be revised if docket/cut offs are high in comparison to others.

12 week review due early feb, ive gota few ideas already to check the new delivery routes.

After all its the new walks that reviewing and checking hnot the old ones.

The ideal scenario wranglered is for CWU to fight for the return of full blown outdoor revisions.

Thats a idea the branch could consider to take to conference 2009.

you slightly miss my point....we tested the Pegasus produced routes and found them to be all at least an hour too big....hence we said run them at 2 hours 15 mins to compensate....the idiots have still come back with 2 hours 50 mins, which , when tested, will be too big....be too late to put anything to conference...we will be done for long before then!

exactly, and now they are trying to put in the town revision on its own, and not touching the firms or rurals 'till march :so there

they said they have run Pegasus at 2.50hr and it's only created 1 extra job, lol, who are they trying to kid. each job reduced by 25mins (nearly 40 of 'em) and it only knocks out 1 more round.

looking forward to getting my hands on the print outs :cuppa

i dare say i'll be able to pull 'em apart on paper, before any tests are done. and its a dead cert' that a test will back it up, 'cos Pegasus is being abused by Royal Mail.

The pegasus revisions do seem to vary in terms of success for some reason.

'cos it all depends who's running the show, how much sh!t the office is in and how much the rep and its members hit back

i asked our manager when the revision comes in will he show us how to do it and in alloted time, its pointless asking someone to do what you cannot do yourself. whether that will happen or not is another matter

At the National Briefing the National Outdoor Officer instructed all Branch`s not to agree savings and not to agree any further peagsus revisions. Therefore all offices should be withdrawing from any revsion activity. Its the only way we can make sure Royal Mail are forced into talking to the union on the longer term Delivery model.

Unless of course RM ignore the disagreement and force the changes through on their terms. This happened at my DO 18 months ago. They are also starting to do it with savings plans but we are getting no guidance at all from branch, area, division or apparently HQ. The local rep is doing his best but as so many members feel let down by the Union the changes are creeping in piecemeal. Its OK to say withdraw from any revision activity, stop taking part in savings plans but frankly its not much help on the ground. Good leaders have plans and adapt them for the situation. A plan which appears to ignore events on the ground, such as whats happening now, is bound to fail as support for it will diminish amongst members.

What we need is a proactive Union one that is dynamic at all levels, what we appear to have is a reactive one. Royal Mail does something CWU reacts by saying withdraw from on ongoing discussions. OK - what then - where is the proactive part, where are the events, briefings, News items, daily or weekly digests and alerts, Area discussions, Meetings, local newspaper items and such stuff - this IMHO is where I as an ordinary member feel isolated and sometimes think "Will it be better to what they want, to get it all over and done with so I can get on with my job and life" and yet the Union does nothing in public. It might be doing loads in private but that does not helps us mushrooms. More support is lost through lack of information and advice than because RM plans are seen as good for us.

Some may see this as a bad time to criticise the Union and it probably is, but if the ordinary members aren't kept up to date, are left to feel isolated and alone then any plans they have to address the Hooper/Mandelson changes are doomed to failure without the support of the average working postie.

Sorry if this offends any Union officials on here but this is my honest opinion and is not an official RMC position. I am very pro-union but sometimes I feel as the Union is not very pro-me.

The Union does have a plan for deliveries it was agreed by the PEC yesterday to go out into Divisions and Branch`s for their views. It is not the final document and all Branch`s can give their views.

It is a comphensive document which seeks to stop Royal Mail plans for a mainly part time delivery model. But also gives the unions views on what the new delivery model should be.

However to create the right enviorment we have to show leadership in Branch`s and turn off the savings including peagsus. Off course Royal Mail may take executive action but we then should take balloted Industrial action either at local level Branch level or Divisional level. In my view if Royal Mail go down the path of widespread executive action and they have not yet but there are a lot of disagreements at stage 3 of the IR framework then we should have a national ballot.

Its no good people criticising the union for a lack of leadership but when they give an instruction to turn off savings that some Branch`s in the union think its all to much for them.
