When was the last time you washed your Van
Just wondered if other offices have a set timetable for van washing. Our vans last got a wash before the Christmas rush last year, petty cash was raided and all van drivers got £2 to get thier van washed next time fuelling up ( make sure you get a receipt ). Are all offices as tight ? I'm presumming they are

We've got an account at the local garage so most of our vans (over 40 at my DO) get a wash once a week.

We dont wash our vans at our office, the car wash at our Mail Centre is always broke :shock:and our Doms not to keen to give the drivers a few quid to run the vans through a local petrol stations washer
so at the moment they are very dirty.Shame really as its not a good advert for the business when you look at the competions vans

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We used to have a van washing SA, but they got rid of that ages ago to save money. Now we just buy tokens for the carwash at the petrol station using the fuel card, which is between £3 and £7 a go. I normally do it once a week, but there's nothing to stop us doing this everyday if we want. We also have a pressure washer but its crap.

Re: When was the last time you washed your Van
We have never washed ours and they are now 7 years old.
They are disgusting. We have asked to get them done many times and the DOM told us we have to do it ourselves with a bucket a sponge. Yeh right!
I was talking to a DHL driver the other day and he said he HAS to wash his twice a day.

There is a car wash symbol on the back of the credit cards we use for fuel which allows you to take it through the car wash.
Did mine Saturday, another task to include in the duty time.

Yes I know about the fuel cards but unfortunatley none of the local garages that take the cards have car washes, so we have to pay cash, it's only £1 for the basic wash but why should I pay for it !!Funked! wrote:There is a car wash symbol on the back of the credit cards we use for fuel which allows you to take it through the car wash.
