Load of rubbish.
Mandy's never going to be able to recruit 20,000 people who can ignore H&S, bully the staff and push Yorks better than those RM already has.

That Mandy, eh?
Hopefully, this latest ,stupid, idiotic idea from Mandy, will be his undoing...maybe, he will have to go a third
time----and 3 strikes and you are out!!!!!!!!Let him hang himself.
this makes me laugh. in a time of economic uncertainty/recession/mass unemployment, he would rather outsource jobs to foreigners instead of to our 3 odd million (and growing) unemployed. ridiculous.
i have an idea, instead of letting s**t or lazy postmen with the wrong attitudes managers, why dont you make someone who has a brain and a bit of common sense a manager. this is the only job where workers dont want to progress and better themselves by becoming a manager, in any other job i have been in, you try n work hard and get up to being a manager, at royal mail, to become a manager you ask! whats that about. thats why we have buffoons running the show making wrong decision after wrong decision.

It's not just RM managers he says cannot do the job but ALL British managers although looking at the way the managers cannot manage in my office, he may actually have a point but the problem is, in RM those who can manage effectively won't bother because of the very bad senior managers (basically turning most managers into supervisors who won't make any decisions without first consulting up the chain), I know this because I've had many years of management experience but I wouldn't even consider taking a promotion because of the lack of freedom to make the decisions that need to be taken to improve the service or relations.

Mandy IS right! We know 1st hand, but the fact that those 'not in the know' are getting the hump with him works for us.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Too true. These people aren't managers, they are the little boy with the finger in the dyke, the parrot that merely repeats dogma and probably the people most lacking in initiative. I have always been amazed at the lack of discipline shown whilst working at RM. As a former manager there is no way the practices that are allowed in Royal Mail I would have condoned.
