So you get out and we are left with the crap, over my dead body. :no no

padraig, youre being a bit presumpous.im not guareented vr as im well down the list at the moment,so i could still be there after the proposed office changes.if i am ill have to accept thats the way the majority of the office want to work in the future.our office is predominantly part-time staffed and they now hold the balance of power.i have 22 years service and have always abided by our unions decisions whether ive agreed with them or not, however by accepting the last pay deal with its amigious modernisation elements the royal mail now call the shots whether you like it or not and in our office the younger members see something in it for them for once and want to grab a deal while its still on the table.our other deal is no vrs/7 part-time 30 hour contracts reduced to 22 and a half hours and staff doing indoor work until 10am before being allowed out on deliver.in both cases you will still be doing youre contracted 40 hours.our members prefer option 1 but arent being allowed to go for it.what is democratic about that?

i also work in the same office as darren, as far as i'm concerned he has painted a true picture. our manager is promising 13 full-time jobs if the deal is accepted, what i'd like to know are any other offices getting the same offer?

finbar, why are you against the deal?do you start before your proper time, use your own car for deliveries and finish early each day and want to preserve this way of working or are you against giving your fellow employees full-time jobs and have everybody in our office doing the same amount of work and hours.

What happened in our office was full timers were removed from their duties and replaced with part timers and the full timers were cajoled into the park and loopers because it was felt that it needed two full timers to prep the deliveries and sort the parcels etc - with the promise of a repick after 10 weeks which hasn't happened of course - so I'd beware the greek bearing gifts.

I know, sometimes I stuggle to find enough space to fit a single delivery into one van, God only knows what happens if there are any extra packets around Christmas :chuckle

Funny that so are we  In fact we seem to clod these schemes in with a review in the offing and no review and nothing said.

Once trays are sequenced and roaded then sorting time will be reduced which leaves two options (1) everyone part time or (2) extended delivery meaning an extra 1/3 walk which means redundancy but retains full timers . . plenty of variations on a theme but this is what it will boil down to, throw in a few quid to get nearer £400 net a week (with d2d) then plenty gonna be tempted to vote positively for change.

It's time you guys took off the blinkers do a 41/2 hr delivery 5 days a week and you'll have to give any social life you had up as you will not have the energy to do anything this lot will have you work you As* for them just take a look around and see how stressed out the workers are in other industries

That's a very telling statement there, Agent.

An outsider could be forgiven for thinking you've just confirmed the image of posties having had it too easy then? :hmmmm
