More than 60 Labour MPs have signed a Commons motion urging the government to rethink a plan to sell off a minority stake in Royal Mail.
The Business Secretary Lord Mandelson has told the BBC's Nick Robinson that the plan is to bring in an experienced postal operator to help modernise the business, but he insisted the Royal Mail is not being privatised.

Surely there is no more experienced postal operator than RM, there must be some experience after 350 yearsGeezer wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7828353.stm

Re: Royal Mail 'not being privatised'
Did we not invent the postal service, what makes anyone think that a foreign company can make us work better. Problem is the huge salaries and huge wave of managment brought in from other industries to try and improve the service, they may have degrees in this and that but they don't seem to have any common sense. All they have done is pis*"d off all the workforce and runied Royal Mail. Perhaps it's time to let a Postie run the operation rather than what we've got at the moment, couldn't do a worse job could they ?
