ROYAL Mail staff returned to work at lunchtime after walking out earlier this morning following a dispute at Crewe’s sorting office.
About 100 workers downed tools at the Weston Road site shortly after 6am following a row over a QVC contract.
Union reps say it had been agreed the QVC work, which was temporarily transferred to Warrington to ease the Christmas pressure at Crewe, should have been back at Weston Road by last week but it was not.
They walked out after fears it was to stay at Warrington.
Steve Wright, of the Communication Workers Union, said this afternoon: “Workers returned at 12 after being told the work would return to Crewe. There will be further talks regarding this issue at 7.30 tomorrow morning.”
