Even though it was warmer today, 6° but because of the wind and rain it felt much colder, other than that it was OK and I got finished about 5 minutes early

Great day today only took 1hour to prep walk then out deliverying before the daylight came home well before lunch, took a hit on my OT for week by doing less than my 5 hours today but who cares, I wish every sat was like this.

Maybe you should send an e-mail of the Ask-Allan asking if that is the correct proceduretolkien wrote:today ,which is our short day we where kept in sorting which gave us between 2 1/2 to 3 hours to do a 3 30 delivery with the result that loads of people cut off and loads more booked overtime ,but were the managers bothered ??? of course not , pissed of the staff but they could show a clear office ,by the way none of the cut offs were covered left on the frames still there for monday

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Very understaffed today approached a manager offered to throw off a delivery and was told they would get back to me i offered one pouch delivery and a total prep for four hours docket. Manager came back to me said as it was not busy we would have to all chip in and prep in our "down time" .All went slow after that made out we were too busy (managers have to be thanked for this as we merely imitated what that do every working day)
Iceing on the cake a manager and also a friend offered me to deliver a bag for one hours docket, I asked him as a postman previously: would he have done so? He replied only if i was desperate.
Take your time, do the job properly and if the sleazy rodents want you to scratch their backs you make it worthwhile ok. Not reffering to my friend hope he does not change.

Never ceases to amaze me how idle our managers are.4 managers have taken 3 roads out
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

I think all DO managers should have to do a delivery for a week every 3 months (the duty needs to be chosen randomly to prevent them just picking an easy duty).IPS wrote:Never ceases to amaze me how idle our managers are.4 managers have taken 3 roads out

Our Dom does,if he cant get a walk covered then he will do it himself, which in the present climate is very often.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:I think all DO managers should have to do a delivery for a week every 3 months (the duty needs to be chosen randomly to prevent them just picking an easy duty).IPS wrote:Never ceases to amaze me how idle our managers are.4 managers have taken 3 roads out

Poo - to u!
The day went okay - very heavy for a week in the middle of January, but what they hey?
Got up at 4.30am. Walked to office. Got in for about 5.00am. Sorted remaining D2D's into frame, relaxed by the *death* machine, had a *hot chocolate* or two, pottered around, washed for prayer in gents, did morning prayer upstairs - as usual - and then started sorting my frame at 6pm.
The mail just seemed to keep coming - mech'ed and loose.
Got onto walk at about 10am
One postie who goes out in the same van and works on an adjoining walk was complaining about *get this* human "s**t" (as he put it) alllllll over one particular long street that he delivers to. He said it might be something to do with all the heroin addicts
in the area. I didn't know this, but he said that when someone shoots up, something shoots OUT
. S**t shoots out. On the streets, if they can't find a toilet in time and they're d e s p e r a a a a t e
When I got out, I had:
1. A jaywalker: a woman stood on the street thinking I was just gonna hand her some mail - well, love as you found out, I just wasn't gonna do it, cos I don't know you from Adam and anywayz, I deliver to houses, not people who think they know how to do my job and:
2. Two "stalkers": two guys in a car wanting to know if I had mail "for them". Firstly, who are you? Secondly, that mail is in the last bag that I do, right at the bottom of the bag box. Thirdly, and again, I deliver to ADDRESSES NOT TO PEOPLE and:
3. WHO IS THAT PERSON WHO HAS STARTED LETTING THEIR TWO VICIOUS DOGS OUT ONTO THE STREET, JUST AS I GET TO THE END OF MY SECOND BAG? IF THEY DON'T START LOOKING AFTER THE DOGS A BIT BETTER, IT MAY NECESSITATE A CALL TO THE DOG WARDEN'S OFFICE. BE WARNED, IRRESPONSIBLE DOG "OWNERS" (IF YOU CAN CALL THEM THAT, I.E. "OWNERS").
4. ARDOB (Alright - don't bite): How maaaaany times have these people been told: get a letterbox on the outside of your gate, cos you have a humungus fecking dog in your garden? The dog was out, so out came my BiteBack spray. Needless to say, it got a gob full, which it didn't like, every time it tried to approach me. The guy came to the door and all he could say was, "Awwww - bless!". Some people...
5. Had two rows of D2Ds - last two rows (with most houses), so finished at 2.30pm. Prayers factored out of overtime, as break had been taken earlier this morning.
Weather was cool but sunny and comfortable to walk about in.

My day has been great! I'm on holiday, not back till Monday. I know what you mean about phone books. When you do find a letterbox that isn't full of junk (it soon will be) you usually need a crowbar to open it.
