Geo Route

Post by ballee »

We are about to have our walks revised using this pegasus programme. Despite our DOM advising that there is no scope for savings, the reason being that we only have 9 walks 1 is fulltime and the other 8 are 5 hour prep and delivery duties.

The full time walk is fully utilised with missorts RLB etc. How can they expect to make savings in an office with a profile like this when our walks are already part time.

We have 12 other duties which are all rurals and which we want tested but the DOM says this cannot not be done. I would suspect that Pegasus will show our walks are overloaded and more time should be put back in has this ever happened elswhere

Seeminly it's not been brought in to make savings just ensure all walks are equal or more equal than they maybe are now or more equal in the eyes of the manager. From what I've heard about peagasus in Dundee where they first trialled it. They found they needed something like another 300 or something silly hours to cover exsisiting walks. This is not what they wanted to hear so they re tweeked it till it came out at the figures they wanted. If you are, as I have no doubt, a hard working postie you'll have nothing to worry about. Sounds like your Doms on your side as well so it's prob just to add another office to the list of succesful peagasus roll outs.

why can't you have the rurals tested ? when we went through this ages ago [one of the first] all walks were tested, bit discriminatory if this doesn't happen

McFan the reason they are not testing them is that they know they would have to put time in. The last revision we had was 6 years ago and since then we have had over 1000 new dely points and they have been absorbed. Royal Mail make the rules up as they go along, they seem to reat their staff and the CWU with contempt.
