The Scottish position on trespass requires a period of permanency or damage.

So in either case we are covered as long as no damage occurs and you don't put a tent up in their garden :Very Happy. Damage AFAIK does include damage to grass or walls/hedges - so only use the paths is my advice.
Bump thread - lets get on topic you 2 pill pushers :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

The morning after what pill? The last time I took Viagra I got a stiff neck, the wife was hoping for something a bit lower down, the time before it was a stiff knee - I haven't tried it since in case it triggers rigor mortis :wave

So putting my finger through someones letterbox is trespassing
isn't dropping letters all over their hallway littering then????????
Yes, putting fingers through the letterbox is trespassing. See the above example.

No, dropping letters into the hallway is not littering. The mail is their property, in their house.

More often than not, mail is trapped in the letterbox by internal flaps or draughtstoppers. The householder may prefer you to push them all the way through, but if you do, whether you use your fingers, a pen or the official-mail-pushing-through-tool, it is trespass. And if the worst happens, you may find yourself in the same situation as our colleague referred to above. As long as the mail isn't sticking out of the outer surface of the front door, dont worry about it.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

Sorry TB you are going to have to be a bit more specific about the "official-mail-pushing-through-tool" a photo would be helpful :chuckle :chuckle

it's been withdrawn was seemingly like a little spatular type thing but didn't go down well on trials. Perhaps it's time to look at american style mail boxes at the edge of peoples property.

Alas no pics. A few were given out at ours. It's a red plastic rod with a cleft in the end. The mail is supposed to be put in the cleft, and then the rod is pushed through the letterbox. The idea is that it will save your fingers from being bitten by dogs or cut on sharp-edged flaps.

Ah yes - I remember it now - storage was a bit of a problem though - the handle tended to get a bit smelly :chuckle - mind it was handy in winter and when I used to deliver in dog s**t city - I kid you not everyone seemed to have a great dane which took delight in crapping on the pavement - some of the piles were taller than me :Sick
