Friday I finished within time. Hardly any packets and the mail was mostly mailsort and DSA.
Ditto on the Saturday deilvery, think it's only about the third or fourth Saturday I've managed to finish before my time in just over 20 years.

Decent finish again today. Left the office at about 09.45 and finished at 13.15. Plenty of large flats and MS but not much else. Bright, sunny day, but a bit on the cool side. A bit slippy, as we had a bit of snow last night. Day off tomorrow so Im looking forward to a good few beers and a curry. :Very Happy

I've been put on a rural duty that I've only ever helped out on a couple of times(the guy had a bad back), I guess it was my own fault for not paying attention, so found today really difficult with all the named houses. Left the office at 10.20, got back at 3.00, the snow and icy lanes did'nt help :arrrghhh

Got stuck a few times in my OMV ( more often than not because of cars ahead of me being stuck ), declined to attempt a few roads, then sprained my knee on my last road ( I still had packets to do in another area, but completed )....by this time I was about 1.5 hrs past my time, but I still went and reported my slip ( just in case ), and then I booked my docket....3.5hrs including my unclaimed M/R. Now I have tomorrow off ( wife has an 'ozzy appointment - plus other chores  ) & I'll see how I'm set up for Wednesday

Treacherous day under foot, left the office at 9.10 temp reading -5.5c  eventually got back at 2.45 temp -1c, so it warmed up a bit! Glad to be home now, hope everyone stayed on their feet.

It was very cold here too but because there is no moisture in the air, we had no ice :nana I didn't even have to defrost my windscreen even though the temp was reading -3.

I bet my postie had to be carefull today as ice is all along the pavement on our side of the road. The local council should have salt bins along the road and staff coming round spreading it on to the pavements.

yep, but they only care about the roads. Slipping and breaking a leg, or falling off a bike on a bike path is of no interest to our council.

In most countries where I have lived its up to the householders to keep the paths clear, in Germany I believe it includes the public footpaths and pavements immediately surrounding your property, but I could be wrong.

A couple fo years ago my old man ( in his seventies ) fell on the pavement on his way to get the papers, I called the local council and reported it, you know, elderly people falling down in the street , they asked if I wanted a claim form, I explained I just wanted them to grit the road/ pavement, thier reply -- " it's easier for us if you make a claim than it is to get the roads gritted"
Somes this country up at the moment

We do,the Mrs sends me up to the shop for a few bags of salt and i lob it over our pathway,im not to sure but i think you are responsible for keeping your pathway clear or you could be in trouble if someone does slip on it.When i went in to work today the main High St had been salted over by the council :Very Happy

Not too heavy today, left office at 8.20, 1st letter 8.40, my last letter 9.10, I slipped over on a hilly driveway, phoned office who asked if I could continue, No, I've pulled a muscle in the top of my leg. Get back to office 1/2 hour to fill in report, no one 2 take walk out so 4 managers have taken 3 roads out, about 80 houses, they can't do the rest (250+)so they say, as named houses. Very cold -9.5c at start of delivery
