Delivery Office Budgets
Anyone know how they work out the budget for each delivery office ? Just thtough articles in the courier etc some offices seem to get a nice little bonus through the 50/50 thing whereas we were £70k over budget within the first 6 months !!

I've heard that Johnny Ball makes up the figures
(for the slightly younger viewers- He did a show in the 80's call Think Of A Number).

Re: Delivery Office Budgets
Any office that does well out of 50/50 will find that over the years it will erode, any savings you make in the first year are taken out of the budget the 2nd year, they call this the NORM, so any savings are taken out of the front end of the budget so you don't get the 50/50, also they try to take hours out off offices just before the financial year(April).
They tie this in with the collage share, there's a mad rush to get an agreement so that offices get the collage share money, so lets say an office gives up 100 hours(per wk) in March, the office is not happy but I would say 99% of the office think that they will get the 50/50 share of the savings over the coming year, this is not the case because it has been done before April, you don't get your 50% of the savings, the budget has been set after the hours are taken out.

Re: Delivery Office Budgets
We haven't seen any 50/50 savings in 3 years
We go over budget, then they cut our hours, so we go even more over budget, then they cut even more hours etc. etc. etc., so this year we're looking at maybe 8-10 thousand hours over this year (and we're only a small office)

And it's not just the office that's small
One of the biggest white elelphants we ever signed up to. We haven't had a penny, hours have been cut too, and the overtime is horrendous, though it would be true to say that in our case there are part timers who just about make 40 hours but are only paid the same rate. The part time agreement needs adjustment - then show me an agreement in the last two years that doesn't.
