Re: Dismissed - HELP!!
Some crimes/penalties do not ever get spent in certain jobs. I obviously have no idea what the thread leaders crime was but if they are spent then no declaration is needed. I suspect there may be something in there that doesn't count as spent. This wouldn't naturally prevent employement but would need declaring on the application form. If this was a genuine mistake then a letter to the Employment policy may help, although I doubt it as Royal Mail have been criticised recently for failing to complete checks on new entrants. Managers can now be held liable for failing to cover off five year work history accurately, this can lead to dismisal for all concerned.

Better be careful what we say - there is legislation afoot to allow the police to hack in to your home computer without a warrant - and I kid you not!Lounge Lizard wrote:Essex Police were probably relieved to find that only 45 of their officers had criminal records.dvbuk55 wrote:There was an article in the paper recently about the Essex Police Force having 45 serving officers with criminal records but were still allowed to serve as it was considered they weren't likely to be a risk despite the fact that one had been dealing in drugs! Having said that each employer has the right to terminate employment if they consider the employee unfit on a CRB check and I would imagine that there is a clause in the contract to that effect.![]()
It's common knowledge that police are bigger crooks than the rest of us, their motto being 'do as we say not as we do'
