Kay is correct.
Boxing day is our day off regardless of what day it falls on, end of! Its really is that simple.

But the Saturday is technically not a holiday so they could still force us to work? Similar situation the following week for those of us in Scotland as our additional bank holiday will be on the Monday.kay_thebigbird wrote:& the saturday we will get 4 days.kay_thebigbird wrote:We will defo get the mon off it will be a national bank holiday.

If a national bank holiday falls on a w/end i.e xmas day, boxing day or new years day you always have the monday off , if xmas day was a sat & boxing day a sun which it will be in 2 years time then you get the monday & tuesday off that is the law, if they try & change it then they would have a major headache, they would have alot off pissed off staff.ramsay ladders wrote:But the Saturday is technically not a holiday so they could still force us to work? No arguement there but what about Saturday, I can see the new style RM trying to get us to work that.

It's what they do at Easter so they'll probably try it at Christmas (looks like another sick day for mejanitor wrote:No arguement there but what about Saturday, I can see the new style RM trying to get us to work that.

change* everybodies days off that week to saturday.this will also get maximum staffing levels at the busiest time at minimum cost .
i have often thought that this could be used for easter week so instead of working good friday everybody has easter saturday off.anyone who wants good friday off for religious reasons could be easily accommadated.
*i did originally put cancel should be changed.

I think the union need to get to work on this rather than leaving to last minute like they usually do and leave everyone wondering what is going on.

everybodies day off would be saturday, thats the carrot that is being dangled.it would mean maximum staffing mon-friday at our busiest period.its a win win situation, which is very rare these days.axeman wrote:You can have you day off cancelled if you wish but i'm afraid mine stays , it's your entitlement don't throw it away to royal fail the union fought for a 5 day week don't squander it besides you don't know what shi* your going to have to put up with in the comming year
