I remember those days, from 1987 to 1994 was brilliant, then it went downhill.

Sh1t management, postal deregulation, IPS + SDD.
I think the main reason it was good, was you came in, threw in your walk and went out , simple and it was early in the morning so nobody bothered you and that was it, I hated working next to some morons who wont pull his weight on IPS and if you are away from your frame you risked scumbags putting missorts on your frame, leaving you to sort it out

before 1994 there was no IPS? (I've not worked at RM that long as you can tell)NWpostie wrote:Sh1t management, postal deregulation, IPS + SDD.

Re: RM advert from 1990
Correct, before the current system, we had two deliveries, one in morning and the other in thr afternoon, there was no IPS, you that was done by the Night turn, you carried it all off and sorted it then got a lift in the Vans each driver had 6 people to take out as part of his duty, you come back by Bus, free no fares as there was a contract between the Bus company and RM, I am not sure about other Offices,mh80 wrote:before 1994 there was no IPS? It was very simple and easy job, you were delivering when there was nobody in the street at 7am, 2nd delivery was a piece of p1ss.
Now its all changed, if they bring in walk sequencing machines, we won't have to do IPS but they may add more streets on and split the deliveries into 2 parts one half in the morning then the 2nd in the afternoon, thats how I think it will go.
