ours is the exact opposite.overmanned over resourced and good at making toast.

Re: sat 27th
I remain one of the victims of the flu epidemic but like a tit I continued to work thoughout xmas, partly due to the rumour that our xmas bonus would be taken away if I bailed.
Still, I went in for a much easier than usual day today (what a waste of everyone's time) and suffered big time. Freezing cold all morning with several stops to actually throw up...mental or what? I knew I should have rang in sick
My eleventh xmas with RM and by far the worst in so many ways.
'RickyBruch' sums it up for me "What a complete & utter waste of money heating the buildings, ferrying the mail round the country, water, electricity etc just to be spiteful & make us work."

Think you'll find it's nothing to with spite, and everything to do with the fact that RM requested this day to be a non-service day for the very reasons you say, but were told that it would be unacceptable to have a four day non-delivery span. Not everyone celebrates Christmas, after all.'RickyBruch' sums it up for me "What a complete & utter waste of money heating the buildings, ferrying the mail round the country, water, electricity etc just to be spiteful & make us work

Re: sat 27th
I was close to this on Christmas Eve, when I came down with it, but just became very, very dizzy and had to stop for breath every now and then. The motivation for me is the lack of sick pay. Therefore I nearly went in yesterday but thought better of it at the last minute. No point making myself sicker and giving it to others while I'm at it.Ogg wrote:

loaded with the cold, but havnt even considered calling in sick tommorow since i'd be punished (change of duty, no extra hours) for doing so. Caught it from another postie whilst helping prep his frame for an hour.

Shocking posts on this thread. sick people humping mail around the streets ,throwing up as they go,frightened to lose cash and worried about disciplinary action . That about sums up the new look modern RM.
