Re: sat 27th
I've heard rumour that anything that does not have to be delivered before Christmas won't be.
It seems possible that on Saturday there could be quite a lot of mailsort (downstream access - whatever that is) and late Christmas cards.
I considered doing a deal with a few colleagues to draw straws with the short straws coming in on the Saturday and doing two deliveries but I couldn't get a confident guess of volumes from anywhere.

I don't care what's going to happen on the 27th, I'm not going in, I'll deal with the consequences on the Monday but as they decided they weren't going to give me a day off this week I'm having Saturday off (I've done this before whenever they didn't give me a day off
).

Re: sat 27th
My office is full of yorks with notices on saying not to be touched until 27th, its going to be fun at my place Saturday as loads of people are going to go 'sick', I've been put out at a SPDO for the day so hopefully I will be well away from it when the s**t hits the fan Saturday morning
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Re: sat 27th
I get the feeling there will be a fair whack to go out but a lot of people are planning to go off sick (whether they'll go thru with it is another matter).
At least I'm still on light duties after an AOD so I won't be able to go out on delivery (shame eh?) I'm working in another office doing admin so I should be safe. Besides, if they do try and make me, I'll remind them of the sick note that's signed me off until the 29th and then go home

Not if Thu or Fri is your rota day - it will be credited and you will be expected to be in work on Saturday.linkinpark wrote:If you worked Monday Tuesday Wednesday with Thusday and Friday BH then it follows that Saturday is your day off so if your lino has stuffed up the rosta thats down to them not you just unplug your phone. LOL. Oh and take a rep with you on Monday for any chats. I'm a reserve and for the past year have been moved on a regular basis, I usually ask what my day off is and if they don't tell me then I take Saturday and because they haven't told me this week then it defaults to Saturdaydvbuk55 wrote:Not if Thu or Fri is your rota day - it will be credited and you will be expected to be in work on Saturday.linkinpark wrote:If you worked Monday Tuesday Wednesday with Thusday and Friday BH then it follows that Saturday is your day off so if your lino has stuffed up the rosta thats down to them not you just unplug your phone. and they always 'lose' any credited days that I have so I always insist on the day off that week.
TBH that is not the attitude I would expect from an old stager - I for example volunteered to go in on Saturday - but found I had some paint that hadn't dried and so I will now have to stay at home - the things I do for the wife, but that's another story
