NT is right, in that without different points of view, RMC would revert to how it was some time back, when it was purely pages of :mfo :mfo :mfo from the same old faces (now apparently departed) which neither looks good to the casual passers-by, or makes good reading for the regulars.

So, to continue the thread, whether you, your mate, the bloke in the registered cage or the canteen girl think/claim/wannabe anything from airline pilots to micro-surgeons is (unfortunately) irrelevant, because RM classes us as the grades we are because of the job we do, and that's that. Life's hard, ain't it, but there ARE no "yeah buts" and that's the bottom line.

Whether good old TBT thinks that's a snobbish attitude or not is up to him,(though as ex-military he should be used to that) but it doesn't change anything. Look at the wage slip; that's what you're worth to RM, and if you really don't like it or think you're worth more, then do something about it.
As the old maxim goes if it "walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.........etc etc".

It's got nothing to do with whether you are snobbish or not. It is the fact that people are accusing us of being thick, for doing our Job. And incapable of doing anything else. Personally, I find that very insulting. Don't you?

My commute is 25miles each way to where i work, i dont moan about it. My previous job was working for NATS(half-owned by the Govt) they closed one of their sites and relocated 50 MILES AWAY, the staff either went with the company or left, thats how its is im afraid?

Yes, if they expect you yo relocate, I believe they have to give you a relocation allowance if your new office is
more than twenty five miles awy, or offer you a pay off.

why not address some of my points Mr NT ? and i agree with Andy i find some of your posts along with Mr Tman very condescending. i have had many jobs including over 8 years serving Queen and Country. life does not always pan out as you would like it and as you get older it is far more difficult to chop and change jobs because of your age and other responsibilities.

with certain MP's you have to check if they've voted with or against the Labour Party whip , depends if they want a career in the PLP or to be a jobbing back bencher or could lose a marginal election - They work for us site is a good source

No. The quote was something like "have you seen some RM staff recently" and referred to certain types of employees now seen in MCs. Bottom of the barrel and all that?

Not really thinking of long-time DO staff here, although that's how you seem to take it unfortunately, but whether any employee is clever enough or determined enough to do another job is beside the point. We're all judged by what we currently do rather than what we'd like to do, or used to do.

But why judge people on the job they do that's crazy and creates division. Its not the job that should be judged but the character of the person doing the job, that's why I and others reacted to what you posted. You judged people on the fact that they worked in an MC or worked for Royal Mail and I think that is plain wrong.

Thieves are lower than low, Fund Raisers should be applauded, Political Activists are usually dedicated, and all these types of individuals work within the Royal Mail why should we judge everyone based on the actions of 1 person be it good or bad.
