Maybe, and this is just a suggestion,in future you stop forwarding the BH items to Brighton and send them BN items insteadmorselll wrote: over this christmas at my mc i have correctly forwarded hundreds of christmas cards to brighton that have a bh postocode on them.

true, however the fact that the item of mail is recorded would mean it would be very easy to identify which employees handled the item right ? surely the IB would be on the case quicklyCarew wrote:They could look out for recorded delivery birthday card as it will be obvious there is something in it.

you have raised an interesting issue. I was told by RMCS that the item would be handled by the Brighton MC. So can you shed any light on where it would have been handled first ? without wishing to prejudice the IB investigations , I can tell you it was posted in a very prominent postal box in the BN41 postal district. I would be keen to get the correct information on where its first point of call would be. thanksBELIAL wrote:Touble is there is no Brighton MC

At a guess it was 1 incorrectly posted 2 incorrectly delivered 3 stuck in some bag/sorting equipment and this is the least likely intercepted by someone in transit!. Conducting an investigation on the Internet is not the thing to do it may prejudice any out come of the investigation!.

For belial what i meant to say was we get hundreds of letters for brighton which are incorrectly postcoded they should have a bn postcode but they dont so they end up at our mail centre what is needed is customer education, those red incorrect address stickers do come in handy !!

Apologies!
Sorry, to anyone I offended I didn't mean accuse the community of Brambleford for stealing my watch. It turned out I was wearing my long sleeved shirt.
Really I don't mean to offend anyone, but a title like that.

Re: thieving postal worker at Brighton mail centre
Twenty-odd years ago I had a problem with mail going missing so I went to my local delivery office London E5 and asked to speak the manager on duty.A pleasant lady came and spoke to me and I explained the situation, she made it very plain to me that she trusted everyone there 100%.
It transpired ,I lived in a small block of 4 private flats, that someone was able to access the common entrance and was selectively stealing items of mail.He received 2 months in jail.
My point is that we shouldnt automatically jump to the conclusion that a postie is stealing our letters.

A very valid point about not jumping to conclusions.Wessex wrote:Twenty-odd years ago I had a problem with mail going missing so I went to my local delivery office London E5 and asked to speak the manager on duty.A pleasant lady came and spoke to me and I explained the situation, she made it very plain to me that she trusted everyone there 100%.

The birthday card with money inside may have been wrongly addressed and'or missorted and'or delayed for whatever reason and NOT stolen by a postal worker. While many posties will walk across lawns, doorstep parcels, sign themselves for Recorded Delivery etc I'm sure that very, very few woould consider stealing from the mail.
As for sending money through the post the official advice is to use Special Delivery. However birthday card envelopes might be expected to include a banknote and those senders who sellotape the back to prevent the envelope being tampered with are probably advertising the fact that it DOES include money. Better to put the birthday card envelope in an outer ordinary brown envelope before posting.
