A nightmare of a day, so much stuff, not enough time to do it :arrrghhh 3 yorks of packets just for my convey bus and a load of specials, only just managed to finish my walk/specials and do a few 'normal' packets
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Absolutely horrendous!! Gotta say, in my 11 years as a rural postie that is the wettest I've ever been. Horizontal rain and loads of flooding. 6am start, off the primary about 9 and out for 10.40. Just finished at 6.15Pm! Can't believe the ammount af packets I've done. Thank god there's only four days left.

My most miserable day working at Royal Mail.....all caused by weather. I dont mind the busy work and the various jobs I was asked to do today......the freezing horizontal rain just made everything unconfortable. At one point i questioned whether i wanted to be around next winter. :Boo hoo!

Looking around the office after my return......and seeing all the soaked postmen/women with a smile :Very Happy on their faces...............for the first time didnt cheer me. I've put in lots of extra hours to pay some of the summer holiday debt and i'm knackered!!

oh and to Adam's letter today......2 pages of no information. First though after i read...Bolloxs :cfo

Oh and i scored another 20 odd quid for falling levels of mail today! I cant believe how much cash can be made by doing your job properly! I have earnt 100 quid in my pocket this Xmas week that i did not last year cause i was being flexi (Oh sh*t was i flexi last year or this? F*ck it i dont know? But i sure as sh*t am earning more this year than i did last year at Xmas as every other week since the summer! DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY AND SEE WHO SQUEALS FIRST? Bet it aint YOU?) Good luck in the the New year.

It’s not the mail that is the problem rather that the sheer vast amount of packets and parcels, one guy in our office has 7 full packet bags on his round lying about, we are doing a big clearout and going out Sunday to do some deliveries, I can’t quite see how our office can clear all the crap we have in time for Christmas! Not possible :cuppa :cuppa

Too right, this is the first year I've had no OT whatsoever at Chrimbo, but thats my choice, started on my time ,had my meal relief, finished on my time, normally leaving half the walk, but the last 3 days they have put one of the nightshift lads onto the frame to box it all up whilst I am on IPS,they had a van waiting for me to take me out to first delivery point :chuckle ,feck em, they better get used to doing that next year cos here's one postie not doing anymore OT

I thought I would be in for an easy week, no f**king chance! Went in at 6 expecting to do my duty (packet driver) got moved off that on to a business/residential duty that I don't really know (never had tuition on it), then I'm told to take a van over to the workshop, virtually no clutch left in it, that was a great 20 mile trip with only 2nd & 4th gear. Get back from the workshop to be told to grab another van and follow LM over to another DO, which I did and bought him back. Park up in the yard and told what area I will be doing on packets, bump into another LM who tells me I am now back on the business/residential that I start off on as the cover had gone sick whilst I was at other DO :arrrghhh :arrrghhh Finally got out about 10.30, only took the businesses the residential has gone out on overtime. When I finally got back from delivery I told them I won't be working my day off tomorrow, if they are going to f**k me about I'll do the same :so there

Took out loads of packets that the regular postman should have taken out the previous day. And yes, I am his reserve so that debunks that myth about reserves! ;)

Started at 05:45. Out of office at 10:00. Only four pouches. Finished at 14:00. And it was a beautiful, warm and dry sunny day too.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

So much for mail volumes are down or pegasus`s 83% delivery average per day, not many days have gone by this past 2 weeks that I haven`t delivered to 95-99% of my delivery points.

Wonder how all the *graduates* from above are going to factor in those points to their pie & flow charts to spin the propoganda that we are all lazy good for nothings :arrrghhh
Oh, they'll find a way, it's not as if they have anything better to do with their time...like some proper work, maybe.

By the way, today was lighter than expected, hopefully the worst of Christmas Pressure is over, still only got tomorrow to go, then Saturday of course.

Been absolutely horrendous in our office this last week, hence the lack of posting on my part. Finally beginning to ease off, so hope xmas eve is a good finish as I'm off for the long weekend. :chuckle
