Chatting about the job a lot especially on here(who started this bloody site up anyway,it's like i bring me work home every day :mad )and with me workmates,the general feeling about it is the times of attendance(toa)
We're up early and finish early and even if we do a full days work,we're home at lunch time,i have me lunch with the missus,then chill.
Where as most other people have half a days work still to do.

I would say that the toa is a big factor in a lot of us staying in it so long.
Most jobs 9-5 can really be 8-6 or even later :no no i could never go back to that.

PS How could you put money down as an option :shock: :crazy:
And what's an ADY :Confused

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don't know really oh yeah i know. the fabulous shoes that i wear and
the lovely uniform. Very fetching. And cheap horrible trousers to cold to wear
in the winter. :crazy:

the reason i love bieng a postie is simple. where else would i go to be bullied. :sad: by my managers. abused by the public :no no and all for the fantastic :nana sum of £300 odd quid. the six weeks holiday comes in handy though :dance

THE EARLY STARTS, AND THE EARLY FINISH, OUTSIDE MOST OF THE TIME WITH NO ONE LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER, AND WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET THREE HOURS DOCKET FOR DOING PART OF ANOTHER DUTY IN YOUR WORKING HOURS,AND AS A PLUS I HAVE GREAT CUSTOMERS, PITY MY DUTY IS SUCH A BASTA?D COMPARED WITH MOST OF THE OTHERS, BUT IM PRETTY MUCH FREE TO DO WHAT I WANT AS LONG AS I GET THE JOB DONE.

Money was a prime factorr 16 years ago when i was a postal cadet!

£100 a week in my pocket, living with parents, no outgoings, life was simple back then!

Things i like about the job in no particular order:
Early finish
Work with some good mates
Moneys ok :shock:
Its easy (most of the time!)
Good exercise
Nice being out doors when the weathers good

I am weird one (now now Postman, Rocky and Tommo) I actually like it when its raining - I do a Council Estate with dogs all over. Most of the dogs are inside when its raining so don't hassle me.

I should add that to a very early thread re universal laws for postman.

The dogs that bite you "haven't done that before".

I loved waking people up with a rec or reg early sat morning when the night before i was on the lash and felt like shite!!! Then seeing them worse than me made me feel like ....... a bag of shite still.. :d'oh! Who was i trying to kid??? Ohhhhh Wot i really loved was Sat morn, Last letter, I delivered to the back of my mates pub.. 1000ish! The cleaner was there and i was her blue eyed boy.. So 3 rings on the back bell and WHOLLOP!! A few pints of cider or stella. And a fry up delivered to the pub from next door from a cafe... Ohhhhhhh luxury!!!! Read the football pages and the gee gees (horses) and a trip over the betting office and a few more pints till full time scores 1650hrs. Home.. shave shite n shower n back out on the lash till my eyes were like this :shock: and this :crazy: .... Ohhh thems were the days!!!
