More of how she said it rather than what she said. She comes across as a middle class woman looking down on the non-working classes.
The manner is a little abrasive, but the truth remains. I have heard of upper class, middle class and working class but non-working class? sums up exactly the point she was trying to make. I am not one of those who subscribe to the theory that zero unemployment is achievable, during my lifetime there has always been a cadre of people for whom work is not an option through circumstance but there are also those who make a career out of being unemployed and consider it a legitimate occupation. I also believe that successive Governments have pandered to them and given the borrowing and the likely tax burden of the future then it is time to crack the whip.
