Walking speed report

Post by DGP1 »

I found this on the BBC News website. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6614637.stm
But an international study commissioned by the British Council suggests urban populations are walking faster and faster, and putting their health in danger in the process.

Researchers in 35 city centres timed how long it took 70 people unencumbered by phones, shopping and companions to walk 60 feet.
I've quoted the 2 things that struck me, that walking faster is putting our health in danger  and that those who where timed where 'unencumbered by phones, shopping and companions' which means the speed figures are useless.

I scored 60, probably because I try not to rush my food.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I've no idea how you guys can score so low, of course it could be the reason my anxiety levels are so high.

I'm going to take up yoga (but if it takes too long then I'll try something else  )
