So he wants to debate and posted a loaded question. Same old clique lining up with the insults, but have those same old faces ever considered RMC should be something more than just shouting down those you disagree with?
No? Thought not.
A loaded question with loaded answers there Tman! (or should that be  ? )

I enjoy the contributions of your good self, Fozzie and the odd stooge RM put in. It would be much less diverse and interesting (in the real outside world) if we all thought the same way. Sadly, the heirarchy at RM seem to think we have to think and behave their way even though the ill advised stuff they come out with is killing the business and having a soul destroying and negative effect on the businesses greatest asset -it's employees. It is difficult to expect anything more than retrenchment amongst people who genuinely care for the postal service under such circumstances.

And as for RMC being what you said it is, see what the "About Us" page says...
"ROYALMAILCHAT: "Our aim is to provide the latest postal news and the best forums for discussion of the day to day dealings within Royal Mail. We would also encourage CWU Reps, Union members, Royal Mail employees and of course customers,to use the site as a means to pass on their hard earned knowledge and experience to those that might find it useful."
If it was so cliquey, you would have been barred by now!

All the best,
Sandyman

I may not even work for RM, this is a public forum

New posties take heed, dont post your concerns in an alterntive way to the clique on here, you are wasting your time![/quote]

could this be the return of that ace stooge 'can type' but certainly can't spell or even have a slight grasp of the english language we all make mistakes i know but honestly not so many
as for new posties we welcome them on board but can tell which side (if you like) they bat for there are always two side to any argument but as good union members we belive ours to be the correct one naturaly
one can only asume if you work for an ouside 'firm' then you perhaps perform menial tasks only ? .....road sweeper ?

Or just someone bored with the same 15 that feel they respresent the majority. As was shown during the last dispute, not everyone sees it the same way. Whatever you say about TNT its still making a lot of money and taking bigger slices all the time. Whether TNT delivers end to end is entirely irrelevant. If we were privatised its likely to be a shared excercise much like the railways

And although the railways are in a different sphere of public service, it is very very debateable as to wether such a shared excersise has truly provided a better service and increased customer satisfaction. Ticket pricing has caused all sorts of problems - imagine varied postage charges for letters.

It's all hypothetical anyway

Spot on Nt ,no one can speak for the 2% of the workforce who scabbed in 08. Any idea when TNT will raise the funds to launch a rival USO operation?

Realistically though, if TNT were interested in buying up parts of Royal Mail, they would only do so once the fat had been trimmed from it and thats more or less whats going on. No point buying something that doesn't make a good profit at minimum expence eh. You watch the pension get seperated from Royal Mail's commercial viability. Won't be long then. Of course that would mean everyone reapplying for their old jobs, for less money.

Of course, and that is the clear objective of senior management. Forget the fat trimming position it's just pure profit chasing. delivery will remain as the rump server of USO under state ownership ,simply because it is unavoidably labour intensive. Postal charges will skyrocket though as the private sector snap up bargain basement MC's and RDC's and network distribution, all new shiny and streamlined with public funding.
The new vastly increased income from postal charges will be apportioned so that the delivery infrastructure gets sod all and just like the railways and utilities it will go down hill fast. A tried and tested formula.de ja vu you don't need to be a genius
