If TNT finally take over the postal service due to RMs own employees hindering the change and progress needed to compete in the real world:-
Do you think they will be a better employer?
Do you think you will get a better deal?
Would you really want to work for them?
It could happen, they are capable of doing everything RM does, given the chance.I have seen it happen in other industries ( not always worked for RM), and happen almost overnight.

They can't even deliver their own parcel's letter's nor collet thier own stuff without us!. If your so bally who about them get your application form in now before the rush start's!.
But If RM gets privatised and is not competitive enough, TNT or their like could buy cheap and asset strip to get the bits they do not already have. Could they not?

I honestly don't think that it is us, the employees that are 'hindering the change and progress needed to compete in the real world'. It is the p*** poor management and government concerned only with their pockets and mega bonuses that are the biggest stumbling block.
Which "real world" are you referring to? The one I see outside every day, RM's, or the one where the greed of big business has brought half the world into financial crisis?

That unfortunately is the real world - greedy ruthless big businesses, there isn't anything else. The difference between them is how much they give back \ do the caring employer thing, not just the monetary benefits.
And as for poor management you find that everywhere to, but I don't think we are helping our selves in the instances where we try to prevent inevitable change, through industrial action. dont get me wrong I'm not anti union or fighting for rights, when the cause and the time is right. i.e Make it profitable and strong, than turn round and say right where is our cut? , we did this.
In the current climate looking at other large long standing businesses in difficulty, some times makes me worry at what happens in ours.
Sure they can't even do their own Door to Doors and the only TNT lorry I see is parked up outside someones house from 10am until about 12 midday I'm sure that if any of us parked outside our house for 2 hours we'd end up out on our arses. All the DSA companies want is to cherry pick all the profitable parts and to ignore the USO because it would cost them too much money.
I'm preparing myself for the zombie invasion, rule number 1 - Cardio

Don't call me or anyone who has worked for a liveing and payed my own money for it to be robbed by two thives of the night GREEDY!.
Its the businesses that are greedy not the foot sloggers who make the money. But whatever happens especially in these time, surely it is better to survive to fight another day when the takings are likely to be greater, than to chop off the hand that feeds, completly?

No son , :lfo & :cfo & :mfo do a perfectly good job of hindering change and progress needed to compete in the real world - they don't need any help from the CWU to do that .
I hope your post was worth it with RM ?
You've the worst of the old school RM culture and :lfo "s culture - Yes RM has some of the same problems that affect other places only to literal extremes
