This week has been crazy in our office. It was a big mistake to go to the Pegasus system before Christmas and the managers knew it but still did it. We are leaving the sorting each day at 8am but there are still millions of letters left to sort. It seems we still have to sort tnt etc crap rather than sort the first and second class letters. The over time is going through the roof.
How is your office during xmas?
Oh and acdcording to the managers the christmas pressure does not start till monday

And just remember the pressure is all on them they make the decision's and they will live die or survive by their choices!. Good luck and a happy christmas.
You get to leave at 8am we've to stay until all the sorting is done which means people are'nt getting out until 9.30-10.00 which just means that people have less time on delivery.
I'm preparing myself for the zombie invasion, rule number 1 - Cardio
Our office is running like a well oiled machine, frames clear, packets clear, all mail sorted, parcels delivered up to date, sorting is completed by 0630 and frames are prepped and we are leaving on delivery by 0730 - the customers are happy with the service and very often show their appreciation at this time of year. The Callers office is adequately manned and well organised. Prior to delivery we go to the unmanned canteen where a postwoman is preparing beans, toast and sausages at a cost of a few pence with a hot mug of tea/coffee.
Course that was in 1998 but with all our modernisation look at us now

Monumental amounts of overtime being booked at our D.O. Refuse to work over and the gaffers turn thuggish. IPS finishing well after 9 each day. I don't think we have a DOM any more - there may well be a corpse in that lit office with it's "interview in progress" sheet of A4 over the window in the door. It's like Hotel California, he "can never leave". Q of S is shockingly poor.
