EVEN LATER START'S RUMOUR OR FACT?

Now that royalmail has set it's course to destroying the mail center network and cut cost's across the board this slash and burn strategy is a foretelling professes of the future of our once great service!. It may come as a shock to some of us that moveing mail center's does indeed affect us all not just the one's who's job's will go but the delivery office's that recived their mail from the office's ear marked for closure!. For if the mail center move's how much longer will the mail take to get to the delivery office's now remember that royalmail moved the start time's of the delivery office's because of a 56 mph speed limit!. So any guess on what time the new start time's would be if this plan goes through i would say most delivery office's would be in the region of an 8.30am to 10.00 am start depending upon the area and distance from the new mail center's!.THIS STRIKE DOES INDEED AFFECT ONE AND ALL LET US ALL STICK TOGETHER AND FIGHT THE WRONGS DONE TO THE POSTAL SERVICE OF THIS NATION!.

theres talks of moving our start times to 7am so we can spend longer out on delivery after years of being classed as a town delivery they have now decided that we're rural cos it suits them now :arrrghhh

A couple of months ago there was a rumour going round my office concerning 8am - 4pm deliveries, the management denied it, but its funny all the rumours seem to come true within a couple of years :nervous
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

rumour has it that the job will be 9-5 within 5 years
this is meant to allow drivers to collect mail when they drop off packets and pouches thus letting management get rid of those collection drivers now doing this duty

I thought they wanted 9am-1pm shifts. You enter the country, come into Royal Mail, pick up your already bundled pouch and do your 20hours delivery per week.

Or have I read it wrong?

Never mind drivers I have heard a rumour, and that's all it is, that they may introduce walkers emptying Post Boxes on their walks before they return to the office and yes you will have to return even if you don't now.

Could explain why they are starting to think about withdrawing authority to use private cars on delivery.

I have heard management talk of why deliver at one time and have a collection at another when we can have one postie instead of two!. And another thing i would think if they keep the six day week ten hour shift's for delivery worker's will become the norm for full time staff so if you did start at 10 am you would finnish at 8 pm.

Post man emptying boxes. Well there's a step backwards if ever i saw one. It was not that long ago it was a normal part of the walking duty until rm did away with it. What next, RM comes up with new way of working. Go out and do the first walk then come back and clear up whats left. I know lets call it a day mail!!!!! Mad i tell you Mad

If this plan goes through mail center's closing and delivery office closing will make the humble post office closure program look like a small drip in the ocean compared with a tsunami of 2004 proportions!. It will change the postal service of this nation to the stone age it will be it's death!. These are the people who have destroyed a national treasure which we all knew as the post office!. At first we should blame tony blair for his rash and stupid change's to market regulation which no other e/u country did as it was stupid!. Second allan leighton and his side kick adam crozier the little kid from Scotland Allan the mighty one said on his first day stop the bullying it did not stop from management it is called (CHALLENGEING) one wrong word to a manager and you can be conducted for dismissal!. Thirdly Gordon brown for not listening and making the situation 10x worse than it was before he took over by de facto and thus appointing a corrupt and decadent minister for business and enterprise!.

Royal Mail have confirmed their 5 point strategy for deliveries.

Its about creating a job for 20 hour contracts and fitting 40 hour contracts into it rather than the other way around.

Mick Stockdale Royal Mail`s head of strategy said to a meeting of senior reps in Bournemouth that at the moment 8 hour duties their is roughly a 50 /50 split on IPS and prep and 50 % on delivery. In the future Royal Mail want a 30/70 split with 30 % on indoor and 70% on outdoor with spans of 4 to 6 hours.

In addition with walk sqecuning they now may be sited in mail processing units MPU which are not mail centres will get mail in delivery units from 11 to 2 oclock so in that senairo latter starts will be inevitable unless we stop Royal mail`s delivery startegy

That's how my office operates at the moment but we have a lot of rural duties.
