OK - you're wrong ;liar

The problem is each phase is running one in to the other - we are approaching Phase 4, which I think has already started with park and loop, there must surely be some rationale in this move to part time hours - it seems as though we are racing ahead with modernisation without the modernisation infrastructure of walk sequencers, transport, etc. Leighton once said that RM would give us the tools for the job, we signed up for the way forward and the next thing you know we should press ahead without the tools for the job. Anyone remember that glorious technicolor video with all this new marvellous equipment? - tricycles, electric trolleys, mopeds, bikes with trailers - anyone seen any? No me neither.
You are right.

I seem to remember being told that if we voted for the pay and modernisation deal then the 1.2 billion quid would be invested into RM DO's. As you say walk sequencers, transport, etc Isn't happening. Wheres the CWU? They are invisible. The more I watch this unfold, the more I see a management and a union in bed together. The only jobs that are being protected are their's. It is truly a disgrace.

- SAD BUT TRUE

We, as members, are going to have to fight this on our own... and it's about time we did.

I disagree that the CWU is in bed with Royal Mail its simply not true. Yes the CWU nationaly has its faults but Branch`s have to look at themselves as well as the members .

Why have so many gone into peagsus when we had a national policy not to carried at a conference two years ago. Lets face it Royal Mail have a policy which is basically that s**t WILL FINDS ITS LEVEL. Which is basically if offices and areas dont resist plough ahead , you cant appotion all the blame on CWU HQs if offices dont say no.

The union will at national level carry a policy of no more savings across the country however we are not a centralised union. We have postal branch`s who`s role is to organise the members within their branch`s and recieve a rebate to allow them to do just that. Branch`s should ensure that they campaign within their area to turn off the savings and start getting the members up for the fight.

However from experience I know some branch`s will not be bothered and content to blame wimbledon.

Its up to everyone to start making sure that we create the enviorment to force Royal Mail into negotaitons.

It is now apparent why Ninean Wilson was removed that he wanted to engage the union . Mark Higson obviously wants to destroy the union .

Part timers. The idea being that in the not too distant future most delivery officers would be outworkers. There would be a delivery office but that would be manned by a full time cadre who prepped deliveries, in theory the walk sequenced mail would be easy to prepare together with the sorted flats. The later starts is merely educating the customer to expect the mail when they get it and not when they want it. Up rolls Gladys having dropped the kids off at school picks up a few bags of prepped mail and off she goes, old Joe having retired after a life time flogging his guts out in some dead end no pension job finding it hard to make ends meet rolls up at 10 picks up a few bags and off he goes. Throughout the day a succession of bodies arrive to pick up and deliver with a day glow RM waistcoat - think of the saving on uniform and the commitment? - I would imagine that will be another saving!
Is this a sign of things to come?
You might just be spot on methinks!

i have heard on the grapevine that with sequencing the delivery will be put on mobile STACKING as the sequencing can only cover a certain area .so where we would have A LARGE office the rows could be condensed similar to modern warehouses.this would represent royal mail unlimited savings where potentially smaller offices mail could be swallowed up and sorted in one main office.so as with mail centres you could end up with one big delivery office and the sorted mail is dropped off. we were due to get a sequencing machine but mysteriously this is no longer going to happen.

I think royalmail's plan's are for "super mail center's" and "super delivery office's" they go hand in hand and as do the massive job cut's in mail center's and delivery office's that will close up and down the land!. And the quality of service will be even worse than it has become of late i suspect that reciveing yesterday's mail the day after tomorow will be the norm (two if not three day's after posting dependent upon time of posting)!.
