ROBBERS threatened staff at a Chorlton post office.

At about 4.30pm on Tuesday 2 December a man entered the Merseybank Post Office on Merseybank Avenue pretending to be a customer.

He started asking about products in the shop, drawing the member of staff from out behind a protective screen.

Another man then entered the shop and started threatening the 66 year-old victim, demanding the keys to the counter.

Fearful, the victim gave the robber the keys. The offender then went behind the counter and stole cash before both men ran away in the direction of Maitland Avenue.

Both offenders are described as Asian men.

The first offender was about 5ft 9in tall, of medium to slim build and aged in his early 20s. He had an oval face, full cheeks and large eyes. He was wearing a dark hat with a white logo on it, a long sleeved dark cotton jacket, dark cotton trousers and black gloves.

The second man was about 5ft 6in tall, slim and also in his early 20s. He had a slim face and dark eyes. His face was covered with a blue scarf with white dots on and he was wearing a dark jacket, dark trousers and black wool gloves at the time of the offence.

Anyone with any information about this robbery is asked to contact police on 0161 856 6157 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
