as for balancing rounds ha ha!! you cannot get all rounds equal as you are bound to have some left over after they have added bits, it will take rounds and rip them up and have you going places that make no sense, in our office the miss sorts are horrendous because nearly all the rounds have been added to, merged or bits put onto something that makes no sense

spent over 2 hours with the georoute guy getting my frame labels right, came back all wrong! spent another 2 hours still came back wrong! so me and one of the DIMS that is ok have bodged the frame cutting labels up and using highlight pens so now at least it walks how you pull it out

the thing to do is like the campaign says do your job properly and they cannot touch you! best bit to come though is that georoute says what is achievable so if new builds go up then they have to re do the duty, ye like they are going to do that!

we got a resign in our office as well, they were not impressed, "nowhere else has done it" this in our office was a bigger change than under SDD

so any advice, take your time, do not rush, do your job properly, no short cuts, kiss goodbye to job and finish and get used to working all your hours

i really think were all doomed!
Once again i would like to thank all the spinless posties for voting yes instaed of no! Next time dont listen to CWU make your own mind up! Doomed we are!

fmjomega wrote:My only concern is that I have both council estates and middle class areas on my round, the delivery during the week is roughly 4 hours but that is on one of those rare days. I use a van on my round and have the large packets to deliver aswell so these are added into my duty time on the ground.
The round next to me in the office on average gets 2 trays of coded letters per day as opposed to my 4/5 and after showing concern about the geo route was told by the management that it would be looked at after the geo route has had its say to take into account the number of calls.
I read this topic last night and voiced a couple of concerns to line manager and DOM this morning I didnt say where I found out the info other than on the net, and one comment made was, what happens in other offices won't happen here we have been planning this for 2 years now and everything is in place to make it work.

So I asked what is our call % and speed as I wasn't quite sure if it was nationally or locally agreed, the response was.....
"It is a national agreement and the figures have been studied across the nation in variable offices so that any problems that may have been overlooked would have been ironed out before we implement them. The speed we have been advised by the union is 4.5MPH and the call% is 87% this has been done in every office and has been successful across the board."

Now excuse me while i drop down dead from laughing to hard but thought i would just show you the response I got so you too stood a chance of laughing so hard ur ringpiece prolapses, your stomach aches and you wet yourself. I was going to add to my managers comments to his face and say.... :cfo but thought i better not today too much hassle for a weekend.

And to answer the question about finishing I now work to my finish time, I was fed up of being on the streets till 5 at night and missing out having a life so have told the management from now on I will not go past my time full stop, to which I was told that by doind so I am jeopardising my standing as we have nationally agred to be more flexible and help out when it is needed. I then asked if this flexibilty works both ways so that if i stay on till 5 everyday on a saturday to I just not come in as I have clocked up 2 hours a day for 4 days which means I am owed 8 hours. The manager walked off after the question so not sure what his reply is to that. I am sorry for those who are into claming docket or for those that need docket to live comfortably but I am fed up with being a pack horse.
We need more posties to fight back like this Good Luck to you sir/madam/either? :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

Spinless is too harsh, mbrs voted yes in good faith and expect their elected officals to repay that good faith.

The harsh words need to be reserved for those whio never bother to vote as they are big enough in number to alter the outcomes of the flexibilty aggrement SDD and way forward. All three aggrements voted in through mbrs not bothering to vote not because some mbrs voted yes. :evil/mad

More mbrs voted in the IA ballot and voted yes than those who voted no to flexiblity.

I'll be honest here and say i am phuqing well confused. If our reps are crap (some) and we are getting no information/facts other than this site, RM are winning are they not? Let’s have some rules SET IN STONE, REPS with information and who pass it on properly, Posties with spines who stand up and fight back and then maybe we can win some back. Every office seems to sing from a different hymn sheet and reading this site I can’t believe I work for the same company as you lot!

Hi beefy curtains, You are obviously not paying attention. Now the flexibility agreement has been voted in there are no "Rules cast in stone". The clue is in the word FLEXIBILITY. :cuppa

With regard to your insinuation that the reps are crap (some), I am a rep, I have been for nearly 2 yrs, have been on training yet I am still learning about the agreements from the past. The latest Pay and Mod agreement under which flexible working is agreed, is a nightmare. I am constantly in the Doms office on a daily basis fighting our corner, I spend hours at home doing cwu stuff, preparing background info, dissecting agreements for condiuct cases, resource meetings si meetings, preparing dissagreements all in my own time. WHY. Because I care about our future. My no1 biggest problem is cwu members. All I ask is that they do the job properly and I will deal with all the flak that this results in. But no, they still expect to finish early with no consequences. Those days are gone, unless the membership accept this then more reps will resign and management will gradually do as they please. There are no set in stone rules anymore with this latest agreement, this is why the reps job is harder than ever. Anybody think they can do a better job, then please step up, I will gladly stand aside. :arrrghhh

Well said Silverback great post :Applause as for all the people fed up with Pegasus, why did you go for it? just tell them that there's no agreement and pass it up to HQ, people moan about agreements and say that HQ has put them in no win situations, they then go ahead and get involved in local deals that they don't have to :arrrghhh

My unit went to disagreement about Peagsus/Geo-route and then the Area Rep came in and said we had to accept it. To make it worse he said that with the DOM, as was, standing next to him. So we did not agree, Nationally the Union did not agree but the Area CWU did :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

The first question you should have asked your area rep, is could he show you the agreement that the pegasus revision was to be based on? and could he show the parameters that the program would be set on? if you as an office are happy with these then go ahead, if not tell him no and say you want it to go to a div rep. As a side point True blue, did you have a vote on it in your office?

With respect Daz, members I speak to voted yes cos the CWU suggested/reccomended them too. I cant belive that some have swapped job and finish (that in some offices was well worth it) all for £400 plus a few poxy shares and MORE WORK!

Job n finish to several of our guys was being paid 2 hours a day for not actually doing anything cos they were fast workers and got back early. 2 hours a day is 40 hours a month pay for not actually doing anything. 40 hours a month is 480 hours a year or approx. £3840 free money. They voted yes to more work, no job n finish for £400??????????? They are also lousy at maths.

:nana Hear. Hear.. I was one of the few in my office who voted no-----I wonder how many people who voted yes have regrets NOW!
I've never known a 'change' even one the unions have urged us to agree to, actually work out the way we were told.
Just the opposite usually.

same happened to us, then this area rep was pushing hard for us to accept the national pay deal as well

these things together and his past record especially in our office leads me to question his ability, just waiting my time till he needs re-electing, it's good to live in a democracy

No but as an office we were ready to walk out on it. Once the Area Rep said his bit all but the most militant (yes I count me in that) caved in an we still suffering the consequences. We have 1 part time walk that goes over by an hour even on Tuesdays. But management won't do anything about it and the Docket Kings are grabbing the excess so why should management care. :arrrghhh
