I really think it is virtually impossible to get ppl to do the job properly unless it comes straight from the manager himself. People just get out off the job what they can now and they really think they are gaining time by these absurd working practices :left:
Look at it this way...
.Coming in early..... =45 mins(of their OWN time)
.Not taking a meal relief..... =40 mins "
.Running round whist on delivery..... =60 mins "
.Not talking to a soul and being ignorant=15mins "

By my reckoning they have to get back 2hours and 40mins before they can in reality FINISH ON TIME!!!!...Blithering idiots
And they believe they are acctually getting something out of the Royal Mail....lol...They are being took for twats :left: :chuckle

:nana Seems strnge to me, but before job and finish came in. lots of folks never seemed to manage back
to the office for their fair share of cutting and tipping etc, noe, the same people are the ones who manage
to finish quickly.

There are people who do that in my office and only get finished 30-40 minutes early, so that would mean they give 1-2 hours every day to RM.

In my office although we dont bother with MR before we go out, some of us do take a part of MR out on deliverey, for example one of my mbrs will go and have breakfast at home about 25% of the way through deliverey.

SDD does give us the right to take our meal break when we want so oong as mr rules are followed, so in theroy no rules are being broken and the DOMS should take into account yourtaking some MR after you go out in line with a national aggrement.

Wave that peice of paper in front of their face.
If we dont take any MR and we cut off then we cut off 40 mins before our duty is scheduled to end, we DO NOT give RM our meal break time.

Your office clearly does not have a proscribed work plan then because if it did you would find that every duty has a planned MR either a full one or a split one and SHOULD be enforced. It strikes me that yours is an office which hasn't quite been brought into the new way of working and believe me when it does you're in for a shock. And SDD is dead and buried you should be working under the Pay and Modernisation Agreement 2007/2009 under which Phase 3 was ratified nationally earlier this year and Phase 4 is rolling out as I type - PDAs, Park and Loop and anything else that RM deem as "modernisation" under the agreement.

Not the case mate,we still have it at my place and at most London offices and i bet at other offices around the country.Phase 3 will end it though,if we ever get a deal to bring it in that is :whistle

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought phase 3 was in. We were told the last 1.5% pay rise and the £400.00 payment was tied to phase 3. We have been doing it for about 3 months now. Saved s**t loads of hours but no bonus.
Oh weve had that mate, about 5 months ago,i thought that was under phase 2 :hmmmm we still have job and finish at the moment,no one is doing any extra outdoor work which i thought came under phase 3.Me i just plod along and work most of my hours anyway(tues and sat can be a bit light).

No enforcement of MR yet! But its in the area phase 3 aggrement, but my office has not got around to doing anything at all yet under phase 3 yet due to pegasus and getting the troops settled in and used to the new deliveries and IPS during a heavy november and now were into xmas rush and resign starts this week with placement on duties picked after xmas, its not a sensible idea to impose 2 dolops of major change on the members at the same time.

Still once phase 3 kicks in and taking of 20 mins minium MR before deliverey starts stats happening then I will become members enemy no 1 for making local management enforce the MR. Still as the borg say "Resistance is futile"

Its pathetic!!

People in my DO do all of the above to have an easy life and the very very few of us that do the job properly are the ones under the microscope constantly getting harrassed off management.

Good to know I'm not alone :Very Happy

I have said it on a previous post, but it is breaking my heart, all this time being given is proving to be some poor sods job PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR JOBS when will you see what is going on.! Wake up before it is your job you are fighting for!!! You do your job properly that is all we are asking take that bloody meal relief that people fought to get you, don't come in to throw mech off, so what if it is there, it will still be there when you have finished your IPS. If you all done this then individuals like myself would not get persecuted for being 'lazy' or 'slow' or anything else they can find to throw at us we would all be roughly the same!!!

Think you are missing the gist of this, members are losing jobs or hours and others are cutting as many corners as is possible to get back early and hey presto another job gone!!! And another unworkable duty for the ones working properly!!! :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

And how many times have you seen that happen recently? IMHO they are as frightened as anyone of looking to be below par and turning in less than acceptable figures even though the targets set are totally unrealistic. I can't understand the mentality of people who accept what is patently unachievable and try to foist it on staff who know what will and will not work - and in truth they know themselves it won't work but cannot say no.
