heapsy wrote:Easier today because I cleared most of the congestion charge ballot papers yesterday, but still heavy. Plenty of packets coming through now, and one or two xmas cards arriving early from overseas. Think some of the lads had it really bad today because of the congestion charge papers and the fact that there were loads throwing walks off. And we've got 9 out of about 90 gone sick. :left:
9 out of 63 at my place

My bus all completed today but will all be booking on Monday, no difference on Saturdays compared to the rest of the week now  Had a york and half of parcels managed to get rid of a yorks worth after completing my walk.

Had my first Saturday off since June (fate of the spare i s'pose, but FIVE months?) but even then the LO's were after me to work it. Said i'd work my day off this week to help out (mug!) as we are short handed. One of the things that get on my t*ts is that when you cover a walk new to yourself, the amount of times you find that you share a bag box with someone who has already reserved every cubic inch of it, any other bag box on your walk is missing the key and no-one cares as the postie who's walk it is uses his car, so you get the pleasure of a long (invariably you're on the furthest walk from the office) journey to pouch off.

Quiet today, at least on the letters side. Plenty of packets coming through. Cold, and very dangerous underfoot as we had sleet through the night and even more early this morning which made going slower than it should have been.

Very dangerous, snow and severe ice.

DOM wasnt bothered about our safety one bit. Shouted at us all to wear 'snow tracks' on our shoes then went and hid in office :mad
