Qute simple really at your next earliest WTLL Session or Team Briefing ask your DOM to make clear exactly what the procedures are for carrying specials whilst out on delivery. Then when he or she has parted with their informed decision if all goes tits up you can all refer back to their given advice at said WTLL Session or Team Briefing.taffy45 wrote:terrier is there anything written down as to that you have to carry specials on you at all times, know its a fact but could you point me in direction of where i would find it written down, lot of people leaving them in cars and pouch bins and maybe they need to see that they could be conduct coded if things go t..ts up

Is there any limit to the max allowed on a van delivery? I have heard about one postie having over 100 a day. Surely that cannot be right. How easy would it be to lose one when you have so many as well as packets, parcels and possibly letters to deliver as well. The stress factor would be massive on the postie every day.

Something along the lines of lose one out of hundreds from your van and you are gone and then multiply that by 5 times a week would lead to stress I think. What happens if you sign for say 247. How do you know? Is your counting accurate enough to go through 247 without making a mistake. It seems to be pretty unfair when town walks are limited to a max of 8 and a delivery span of 3. hours whilst rurals can bog off as far as the CWU are concerned. NO delivery length and no max specials.

Guys there is a limit to the amount of reg that go on vans, also the amount taken out depends on the size of the van, trouble is i can not remember what the figures are as it was a few years back when i was shown the guidelines.
