AFAIK its a mini starburst - ie 2 posties use 1 vehicle to cover both their deliveries.

So the idea is you park up in one location and both perform a loop back to the vehicle and then move to another part of he joined round and do it again. Some areas that have had it implemented on them (no national agreement yet and its in the trial stages) they do a leap frog method instead of looping but the general idea is the same.

we have been doing it for 5 weeks now it is 2 to a van and two dutys also we have to take all the packets including large ones but they have not given us any more time to do all this  so we go over our time every day some people leave in but managers put pressure on to take everything or face willfull delay :mad so things are not going to well we are under a lot more pressure than before plus we still have to fit in door to door and we have no time for meal breaks some say you should take the breaks but how can you when a child will be waiting outside school for you this has been forced on us with no consideration for anyone so much for dignity and respect at work

Welcome to Park and Loop land, where time is stretched to infinity and the ludicrous becomes possible - it has serious flaws - some of our park and loopers have gone back to using their cars, and so we have one park and looper using their car and one using the van - chaos rules. The vehicles that aren't being used on P&L are being used to do the excess packets. Lots of our P&Lers are leaving in, especially since we have had yet another round of light bulbs.

Pray do tell why you call him "BIG" Al - that wouldn't be from personal experience would it? If there was a green with envy icon I would have used it here :d'oh! :chuckle

:nana The only reason most people do not cut off, is that firstly they know they will be hastled by Maangment,
and will NOT be supported by the unions---sad but true, Some reps are getting as bad as the managment for
their shoulder shrug response.
