Retired postal worker takes delivery of Mayoral Award

Retired Middlesbrough postal worker Brian Robinson has taken delivery of a special award from Middlesbrough Mayor Ray Mallon.

Mr Robinson was honoured at this week’s meeting of Middlesbrough Council when he received a Mayoral Award from Mr Mallon in recognition of his community work.

The Mayor said Mr Robinson had been a real community activist for many years.

Mr Robinson worked for the Post Office for 36 years, and had retired as a transport manager.

He has since become much more involved in the community and with many groups and organisations.

He is chairman of Beechwood Community Council and for the past three years has been chairman of governors at Beechwood Primary School.

Mr Mallon described Mr Robinson as “the kind of person who had stood the test of time and would continue to do so in years to come”.
