Nope I am a full time walker. Each office is different, at my DO the drivers are full time but they don't do any IPS. At some DOs they do, it all depends on what the Custom and Practice is at each office, although it never ceases to amaze me how complicated RM make delivering mail, every DO seems to do it in a different way and with different rules.

I suppose there is that, the wages we get now are above average, it never used to be, before 1994 I think it was an overtime culture as the basic wages was too low, it has improved a lot and there is less reliance on overtime, I still like going out on delivery, its the bullshit and backstabbing that annoys me, hence my preference for outdoor work.

Total bollocks ,according to the office of national statistics the average male wage as of April 2008 was £521 a week, maybe your 'we' is different to the rest of us,but I sure as s**t ,on a full time wage come nothing near to the official average so stop spouting crap

the management are useless and until such times as RM decide to actually work with the staff (and not against them), nothing will help.

I used to really enjoy my work,Had a great walk and really got on well with the customers. I got moved to a lighter duty due to health reasons and its a piece of piss but I now really find it a struggle to be happy in my work as I work indoors and can now hear all the backstabbing and see the spite some people have. I have also seen how incompetent most doms are at everything from dealing with customer complaints to putting through the postmans overtime. I wish I was able to take out a walk again because at least your more or less your own boss once your out the door.

I think I was refering to Minimum wage scale, for the type of work we do, very manual, its quite good money, next time ask me to clarify instead bollocking

I know this probably won't go down well with certain people: But I thought you were referring to the average wage for other Manual Workers. According to the Jobcentre Website: We do get a good wage, compared to other Maual Workers.

I know that it takes more skill to do what we do. But that's another issue entirely. There are those, who consider us to be Manual Workers. So it would have been a valid argument.
