This weeks Courier - what a farce
Yet more propoganda from the 2 clowns at the top.
what really gets me is the playing on the heart of "our customers wont get their mail if you strike".
"companies are ready to step in and take our work away".
am i the only one that gets so annoyed by this. at the end of the day - without us this "competition" couldnt get most of its work delivered. we are the last mile. it infuriates me how managers claim falling mail volumes. one guy wrote up about this and makes alot of valid points in the mail section of the courier. our own mail may be falling, but the weight and number of my bags tells me work is INCREASING if anything.
the courier sickens me, its so full of total nonsense. where do they get all these saddos that smile and wave for pics in it, looking so happy in the job.
Another reason i entered a massive YES on my balot paper.

So we lose customers? What that will mean is you walking up the path with three letters instead of the five we've been used to. These people are out of touch with reality and should be removed from their 'jobs' right now.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

well in our worktime bullshit this week we dealt with pegasus the new wonderful canadian delivery system which we are trying out (not that itr ios ready yet). We were told that mail volumes were down then told that the Royal Mail do not count down stream mail in there calculations well there you go so the volumes are down but thae amount is up. Anyone else out there trying this pegasus think , would love to hear your views.

We had a new Gio-route (this is new name for pegasus apparently) put in at our place (via executive action) and it needs a senior postman and union involvement as it does not take into account loads of things. Such as Back to back houses, rear access letter boxes, shared housing with separate letter boxes, geography or even when you have to back your bundles in most cases.coppertop wrote:well in our worktime bullshit this week we dealt with pegasus the new wonderful canadian delivery system which we are trying out (not that itr ios ready yet). Problems that came up:
In my area they had one walk zig zagging down a major A road.
My walk started at the bottom of a steep hill (1/4)
Walks have to be tested ASAP and get agreement as to when if your not taking it down the IR framework.
Also it seems to miss parts of walks, my walk had all the odd numbers missing in one street.
It also does weird things where walks mix (at the start of bringing it in me and my mate had to walk down the same path to get to 2 neighbouring houses) why they just did not put both on walk I don't know.

NOTHINGS BEEN AGREED YET.
POSTMAN wrote:I attach a copy of a letter we have sent to Royal Mail offering to open discussions on achieving a national agreement concerning the use of Pegasus/Geo Route.
This is a genuine effort on our behalf to achieve a sensible approach and if our offer of discussions receives a positive response we will seek to press ahead to an agreement as quickly as possible. We will of course provide Branches with Royal Mails response (If we get one) and provide an update in due course.
Somehow i missed this one dated 21/05/2007
I've asked for a copy of the letter, seems there is no agreement about 'Pegasus Geo Route'.
I also like this bitRoyal Mails response (If we get one)

:lfo :cfo The one that made me laugh was the picture of the staff & ML4 with those glossy questionaire, all that Team working is fun, Jim's off again, I'll have to work unpaid overtime!. The staff were so happy about them, they were the subject of a letter from Branch & a grades meeting.
That style is the sort of thing that would be used on eight year olds in a public school.
