dont bank on it, we did geo routing ages ago now they want more cuts, buy downs evr and more flex.
same here - we got geo-routed 18 months ago now just before the strikes and rumour is they want more hours next year. This year we are about to go to disagreement over permanent lapsing on Mondays and Tuesdays as the plans put forward involve use of our own cars. :arrrghhh

I thought that after your geo routing flopped ages ago and they ended up putting duties back in?
Dont say they really expect you to use your own cars petrol and wear and tear to make those same cuts again because if so they must be nuts!

As far as people who dont do the job properly..........I am curious as to what any CWU reps on here would say about representing someone who uses their car, comes in early etc and happens to get into a spot of bother.
Surely a firm stance should be taken as these people are essentialy "biting the hand that feeds"
Because a rep has to represent every union member, it doesn't matter what they get up to they still have to have the union rep (but that doesn't mean they have to go the extra mile, just make sure RM follow their own rules :Very Happy ).

:nana Back to the old chestnut of using cars.. I remember the dayswhen we all tried it the union way. It was an absolute disasterFrom waiting an hour or more to get taken out, to standing for ever waitng on drop bags. to having
to make your own way back to the office----not once, when you approached the union, was ant attempt made by them
to support us----no help if you told the bosses you were cutting off, no concern that you could be standing around
frozen to the marrow in biting winds and gales. just shoulder shrugs. If they want people to stop using cars, they
should come up with a written agreement along the lines of how long people should wait for drop offs etc---
As usual with the unions, only a few memberes get fully supported.
Let them get a system in place that makes it possible for people not to use their cars, and then they may get
the support they want.

How can that work ?
You finish rural delivery a hour or more earlier on a Monday and Tuesday than a Thursday and Friday, so are they really going to accept collections from firms an hour or more later on a Thursday and Friday than earlier in the week ?
