...What can you say? I mean like a customer or friend asking.

There seems to be loads more mail which takes ages to sort so you get out later (even though volumes are said to be falling)
1 hour later start times
Larger rounds

Anything else? This is my number one gripe at the moment, people thinking it's just posties being lazy or something, when in truth the majority are working damn hard.

Ask them what day it is - if they answer "Friday" say politely "well, this IS Friday's mail so it isn't late" We do days - not times and Royal Mail customer services will tell them exactly the same, but probably without the caring and sincere attitude that you will.

You could say some thing like this:

"If I work hard and make some time, would you like you post earlier and would you care about me making some time,?" they will answer "No of course not!"

Then reply

"So why was you f***ing moaning when we went on strike then... :arrrghhh We knew this would happen, those strikes cost us money, :Boo hoo! but all you thought was that we were doing it for a few quid's pay rise....look at your service and look at the closures of PO's :wave ............. I told you so, now f**k off!"

It does my head in, I didn't work at RM in the days of the 2 deliveries, it was years ago yet people still blame me when they get thier post past dinner time or later. Then elsewhere you get people moaning and slagging off posties when they go on strike. bollocks to it all!!!!!!!!!!!

"I'm not late, royal mail pay me to deliver your mail between 10:30-14:30"is my standard reply, which they seem happy with most of the time.

I gave him the standard line of phone my boss & tell him I'm late see if he cares .
On the 5th day of this pain in the arse moaning at me he said
"I'm so angry that you bring me my mail so late"
before he could add to his statement I said
" why not sell up & move to the start of my walk then you will get yer mail early"

For us it's a reduction on the number of full time staff in the DO, the move of processing opperation from Stoke to Wolverhampton, 30 odd miles down the M6, only to bring the mail back up the motorway for delivery, later and later missort runs, need I go on.

Do you know that in My DO. We can be ready to go at 9.30, only for the DOM to call us back to sort tomorrows mailsort untill 10.15am. Its spiteful and makes us looks planks to the public. I tell people, "I was ready ay 9.15 but my boss would not let me out! " They are horrified. Quality of service, MY ARSE.

Surely this is a good thing. If they let you go at 930 they would shed jobs.
