How many deliveries has it cut out?

We have one round taken out but AG's are increasing their hours from 28 to 30 a week and using the extra 24 mins a day to take on a bit of extra delivery work.

Why is it every year christmas creeps up on RM management and they can never plan properly?.............its not like the date changes
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

You're optimistic, they can barely plan from minute to minute

I think there will be loads of postmen/women working their contractual hours on the run up to Christmas this year. The management have smashed the goodwill and in my opinion it needed smashing cos they were getting too much work done for nothing. The real cost of delivering mail is now rearing its ugly head.

Ours too but the office doesn't close til 8. Our DOM mentioned speaking to the rep about christmas a few weeks ago I happened to be there but no mention of it since - the state of our office and the feeling amongst the staff at present, they'd better be offering more than ad hoc.

Not a peep in our office about Xmas. Manager is far too busy trying to cover the normal duties and trying to curb our overspend on the budget. Last week it was about challenging staff about OT to get the budget down but dockets were flying in left, right & centre anyway. Who would want to be a manager when you don't get enough freedom to manage?
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

We have an Xmas Agreement.
Among other things 230 of our 500+ PT staff will get FT hours over the Xmas pressure period.
Those of you who don't have an Xmas Agreement should perhaps try to get as many PT staff as possible
made up to FT over Xmas.

Hi ya Broxi can i take it that you are also Over spent on your current Budget ? If so have your office been tasked with making any savings ? because as well as the summer savings we have been told we are £30,000 overspent and to make this up we have to collapse 3 more duties until April absorbing the workload NOT SURE WHATS GOING ON @ CRIMBO

29k overspent here Glenno. They are trying to lapse one duty on a Monday & Tuesday only. We dont have time any other day to take extra. As I said they are challenging when you tell them you will be an hour late. They tell us they will only pay for half an hour and then we tell them which bit do they want left. Our sick absence isnt any higher than normal. We have also been told that annual leave will be allowed at only 4 persons per week instead of the usual 6 unless we sign up to lapse 2 duties during weeks 12 -25 next year. Sorry aint happening

We only get told the hours we overspend not the actual amount  We do have lapsing on Tuesday and Saturday but because they are both short days I never have time to do them and if most of the others would grow a set then they wouldn't do it either.
