A van picks up the pouched off mail/packets next day when dropping off bags. Surely mail integrity is in question if left in these overnight?![]()

Cant take them home so gotta leave them somewhere.
I used to drop off at the Post Office, but what happens if you drop off after the vans been? People turning up at the office with cards, and their packets still at the Post Office!

Management are there to manage. Make them manage! Go up to one of these people and ask them to sort it out. Explain to them that the nearest PO is whatever miles away and it's then up to them to sort it out. If not then run through your cwu rep and also stick a grievance in. It's not your job, after you've done your 3.5 hour delivery span to then have to worry or run about with pouch full of P739 items. This has to be within your delivery span. If they still want you to pouch off at your nearest (joke) PO then say, "fine. That'll be xx minutes walking off my 3.5 hours. I'm working to my time so what mail shall I take out and what do you want me to do with the rest?"silverback wrote:Not so simple when nearest post office is 3 or 4 miles away.

Our office opens at tea time, so I put 5 hours, or whatever it is to opening time. I'll have a re-think now...dave7634 wrote:Do you put 48 hours on the P739 card like we have to?

The 3.5hr delivery span is first letter to last letter, conveyance and pouching off are extra I believe.dave7634 wrote:Management are there to manage. Make them manage! I don't think there's a set time when pouching off at the end of your delivery. Something in the region of up to 15 minutes should be built into your delivery if you pouch off or however long it takes. So therefore, for example you could have a 3.15 delivery and 15 minutes pouching off.silverback wrote:The 3.5hr delivery span is first letter to last letter, conveyance and pouching off are extra I believe.

At our place it's 10mins to pouch off.But we are pouching off by leaving the stuff in 'Pouch Boxes' overnight, then the drivers pick it up the next day.
I thought leaving the stuff overnight was a normal thing!Obviously not.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If you have no post office and the depot is too far away then just card it to the next day and take it the following morning, It's the only option you have?
