Dog p1ssing on letter boxes

Post by NWpostie »

Like the titles said, I am fed up of collecting from letter boxes that is used as a p1ssing post by Dogs and it really stinks.
Is there anything that can be done , a spray that repells dogs and doesn't wash away or similar solutions, the dogs owners don't seem that bothered about it, I have seen them allow their dogs to spray all over sometimes when I am coming out of the van in full view of them :evil/mad talk about brass neck !

I think a circle of Water Buffalo s**t around the base of each box would act as a deterrent

try something like bleach to clear away any dog smells to see if you can break the cycle of masking another dogs scent

spray bottle with neat bleach is def worth a try, dogs do tend to scent mark where they can already smell another dog has been. if u loosen the nozzle on some sprays u get a nice jet that goes a long way rather than a mist. Or a backpack high pressure model if your feeling adventerous?! A nice day-off job! :Very Happy

Forget the urine I found a nearly un-eaten fast meal of curry and chips complete with tomatoe sauce IN the box the other week. All over the post so I left it. Told the boss and he told me to just drag it out onto the floor. I said then i get done for littering as a hobby bobby happens to walk past, are you gonna pay the fine and take the crim record then? He got some gloves and done it him self. THE FORESKIN! :dance

We had a box that used to get rubbish put in it quite a lot, there was a chip shop 50 yards up the road so you know what sort of stuff. RM sealed it up for about six months much to the annoyance of locals. it solved the problem. For once I felt proud to work for royal mail and happy that they had stood up for the workers.

Make the most of it cos it don't happen often. Salt of the earth RM (NOT) I am suprised they did not give you a voucher for 20% off vinegar in your wage slip! :left:
