We had a late WTL today - DOM has admitted that this summer mail volumes have been the highest ever recorded for our office.

Proves my point. Enuff said

So then i had to tell him i was cutting off due to high volumes and so did 14 others :Very Happy

Got to work at 6:15am. Mail due to arrive at 6:25am. Mail arrived at 6:55am. Not too good a start. Got my round prepped and ready to go at 9:45am (we still have 48 box frames). Got to first delivery point after filling van up with diesel at 10:00am. Was back at office, all sorted out and finishing a coffee at 13:45pm. Started badly ended really well. Plus it's one of my preferred rounds too.

A good news/bad news type day for me.

A couple of mailbags full of lightbulbs from a housing association to all it's tenants. Two days to do them in though. I stuffed a pouch full of them. Did the walk with the regular mail, then went back over it with the lightbulbs. An hours OT but I reckon I saved as much time by not prepping them into the walk and making up extra pouches. It worked out Ok so I'll do the same tomorrow with the rest.

A householder had a present for me. Quite unexpected. She's hitting Ebay quite a bit at the moment (prob' xmas pressies) so I've had packets for her nearly every day, including today. She said "I've got a present for you" and gave me a box of Rose's chocolates. A very nice gesture, I thought. In fact, I'm eating one now as I'm typing this. :chuckle
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

Good day again. Couldn't complete my delivery in time allocated. Returned with 2 bags undelivered.

Yesterday some staff cut off and because we are in the s**t no one was able to cover the cut offs so it had to be re-prepped by the postman on it today and then they had to start where they had cut off yesterday. And can you guess what happened next........ they cut off again today. :nana

I remember a few years ago whenever it had to be really exceptional to have any sort of failure but now it seems to be a common thing  It's nice to see the management are completely ruining a previous efficicent business.

What management really need to do is to have a good long hard look at the mess they've caused, and quickly before Christmas comes and the whole thing goes into mealtdown

welcome to the world of the part-time staff. 11.30 most of the time.......and all we have to do is tie up and get a lift to start. Managers mess that up almost every day

Perhaps they are counting the collapse of knees and backs and reverse extrapolating this to Mail volumes :Very Happy

Very busy again on Thursday, loads of packets and mags. Only 1 recorded tho. Had to pouch about 5 packets off. Weather was good for this time of year. Day off today, but heard through a mate that they got battered big style.
