when to prep door to doors

A question for my fellow workers

I know postman will love it :-)

But just confirmation on can we prep our 20% of door to door items in the duty allocated time? Our DOM says that door to doors are to be prepped in our own time.

Any thoughts?? :hmmmm

We used to be told that they had to be done in own time, but I notice quite a few in our office now do them in work time. We have 15 mins before we have to start IPS, so a lot of them do them then.

Seems to be built in to the starters training talk now. New recruits are not told D2D prep is part of the duty, but it is suggested that putting them together is a pleasant Saturday evening pastime, you can even watch Match of the Day while you do it :chuckle

My answer to the dom is if it was done in our time it would have to be voluntary, as it is not, it is done in their time. Simple as!!!

Ive said much the same to mine, he then told me that he had an e-mail from some D2D guy who told him that if we prepped them during our duty time then the dom could expect that time back as they are a separate payment, nae bother says me, you do them :wave

Yes he may have told, but did he actually produce a copy of the Email so as it could be verified?

When i was walk tested i insisted on prepping 20% of my door d2d's as part of my duty.
No No say's the tester, they are to be done in your own time.
Nuts to that i said, and produced written official confirmation.

Good point, my DOM can tell a lie at the drop of a hat and make it sound like the truth, you'd think after 6 years i would know better
