A WORCESTER postwoman has officially launched Royal Mail’s new Christmas stamps.
Heather Foster, who has worked for the Royal Mail for 23 years, dressed as a genie in cloak, turban and beard at the Worcester mail centre, Wainwright Road, Warndon.
The genie first class stamp is one of a set of six pantomime stamps which go on sale on Tuesday, November 4.
Others feature the Ugly Sisters, Captain Hook from Peter Pan and the Wicked Queen from Snow White.
Royal Mail spokesman Mike Dalton said: “Pantomime is a genre unique to the UK with a tradition stretching back hundreds of years. It is always one of the highlights of Christmas.”
In addition to the pantomime stamps, last year’s highly popular first and second class stamps of the Madonna and Child, featuring paintings by William Dyce and Lippo di Dalmasio, will also be available this year.
